gonzo Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Drivers tacho will play a part. Stupid fucking thing. Quote
NorthernStr Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Red Lion in Billaricay now, deepest darkest Essex. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Don't see how you could make clubs install undersoil heating unlsss they are given the money. In this situation though, the forecast told them it was going to be a cold night- could they not have called it earlier. Quote
gonzo Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 All about what constitutes a frozen pitch. If there's kids playing on grass opposite it's not that bad ffs. Quote
little whitt Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 No professional fixture should be postponed because of a frozen pitch ffs. All kids matches are on here and it was -2 last night. THIS and 4 hrs before its Southend means its down south never cold down there bet there are people on the Beach Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 It was -7 down there last night from what I've heard. They must have had a good idea it was going o be solid. Quote
Casino Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 All about what constitutes a frozen pitch. If there's kids playing on grass opposite it's not that bad ffs. One problem with football grounds as opposed to a park is there's likely to be shaded areas on a pitch As for undersoil, it's not only gonna cost more than clubs can afford, it then costs a fortune to run And don't forget, if it's snow, the pitch can be fit and still no game I wonder who pays our costs for the game? Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Would it be beyond the wit of man for the game to be played midweek- players could stay down to avoid extra travelling. Quote
Casino Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 If that was an option they'd have stayed down after palace And that wouldn't have required sorting out Stewards and policing So no, it's a daft idea Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I did wonder if they'd stay down after palace. You're right- they have to sort out policing etc; but in all reality it is doable- they just won't. Quote
bwfc2003 Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I would imagine hotel costs for 25 people for 3/4 nights would have a big say Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I would imagine hotel costs for 25 people for 3/4 nights would have a big say Indeed. Presumably they'll stay over the night before the rescheduled game though and that'll cost. To be honest, the staying down bit is not the main issue for me- its the backlog, and surely a few phone calls and discussions immediately after postponement could have yielded a game on Tuesday/Wednesday. Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 And the mugs from Bolton who want to attend Its just a very bad idea Those mugs have been fucked over already. Far fewer are going to be able to go for a midweek game now. The only positive I can see is that we have the chance to get back to winning ways at home now- wasn't confident of our chances today. Walkden White Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 More rest, chance of one or 2 signings before rearranged fixture, other results not bad at all. There are some positives :-) Quote

frank_spencer Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Fucking hell even Burnden Park had under soil heating Quote
RUREADY2ROLL Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Southend, charlton, Leyton orient and Crawley all called off with frozen pitches Soft southern bastards Did British Military Fitness class on Hyde Park at 9am this morning and it wasn't that bad Your right they are soft southern bastards Quote
Blondi Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Southend are a fooking tin pot club, their fans reckon the game was only called off because of the last 10 yards in front of their South stand, coz it doesn't see much sun. Do something about it then! Quote
Smiley Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 Long day with not a lot to show for it. Few beers on the front. Couple of dirty tarts parading in front of us in the Forresters. Got to walk on the pitch and sit in Browny's office seat. Pitch looked fine to me at 11.30-11.45 Quote
