Was it something stupid like no win in 24 league games for the Whites then ?

 

Bolton being Bolton ended that long barren spell by beating the then current European Cup Champions Notts Forest 1-0 IIRC.

 

Leigh White sulked and followed his home town Wigan in the old fourth division, Bolty58 scarpered off down under,The AHM mob called for Ian Greaves's head,Mounts blamed it on the faltering EU and I watched it hid behind the sofa.

 

Truly bad times for a Wanderer.

Fucking hell Miami, I grew up with you watching Bolton and there were some shit seasons, but none came close to what we had to endure last season

Couple of great seasons ruined by last day matches not going the right way and missing out on promotion. Mid 70s

To be honest, all things considered, last year was the worst for me.

 

Saw us drop to the fourth division, but there was something honest about it, we were genuinely shit and flapper got injured at home to Aldershot.

 

Last season, plenty of players played well below themselves, the finances were going down the pan and the manager seemed to lose interest and respect. It was shite in every possible way.

Bloody hell their was some bad years round that time, Anderson, Charlie Wright, John mcgovern take you pick. We always bounce back though, like a bloody boomerang the wanderers

76/77 a prime example Micky.

 

After losing to Everton in the League Cup semi, we won just 5 out of the last 17, losing some silly games in the run in that season.

Last season was utter shite Alf granted mi owd mucka but at least we had the booze to console ourselves with unlike when we were kids and enduring long cold winters whilst playing on St Bede's' playing field against kids wearing Liverpool shirts.

 

At least we gave those lot a few hard tackles eh mate.

Last season was fairly poor, but the 86/87 season will take some beating. To be relegated after losing a play off game against the mighty Aldershot who at the time played in a league below us has to be the worst season I've had to endure !!

But last season for me was shit/scary because I didn't know wether the club was going to survive.

All those games going down to London and losing, must have lost 26 on the bounce in the capital.

82/83 - remember it well. My first season away from home at uni. Came back a few times for games and watched a few away games as well as Xmas and Easter

 

The whole season was defined by Ian Moores who made Mario Jardel look like fucking Messi

 

It was fucking shocking

I'd be considered youth compared to most on here so I won't have seen even half the crap.

 

But last season for me was shit/scary because I didn't know wether the club was going to survive.

Trust me pal, you've seen the worst,

 

but you've not seen the longest succession of shit seasons, far from it, and hope you never will.

The eighties were grim but there were reasons

 

Clapping cnut coyle relegating us with the 12th biggest wage bill in the League was disgraceful

That's how I felt about the season with the Rob Hall Blackpool game a couple of years back...

I've lost tack but the seasons under John McGovan have to down as the worst ever as a fan for me.

Thing was, immediately after the Aldershot game I remember the silence. That was awful.

I'm with TMGJ as last season being the worst just because we under performed so much.

 

We've been plenty worse but the team usually made up for lack of talent with effort.

 

The worst team I've seen was actually the one season before relegation to division 4, Charlie Wright and his merry man. What a sack of shite they were

In 30 years,last season was the worst. Hopefully it will remain that way... being the ever optimist, my kids will really appreciate the glory ahead, after tasting the bitterness of 2015/16 at such a tender age.

With Birch's stag do at Bristol being the best and worst away game in one.

Last season was the worst, the multi millionaire owner didn't give enough of a fuck to pay the tax bill and people being people, with a few exceptions the players took the lead from the boardroom and didnt give enough of a fuck.
Before that it was 1986/87 when we had several opportunities towards the end of the season to avoid the drop (newport away, York Doncaster)but were too shit to do so.Plus we had a Boxing Day home defeat by Bury and being  doubled by Wigan to suffer

My one and only visit to York.

Think the club put free transport on and plenty turned up. Iirc didn't polo mint equalise for us before losing?

I've watched us since 1964/65. The worst season by far for me was 1986/87.

In fact the whole of the 80's was a complete Bizfest.
