People whinging on faceache about May saying she will "rip up the human rights bill to arrest people"...

your human rights end when you purposely plan to kill innocents..

Totally agree and it would be a necessary evil in my eyes.

My brother, a conspiracy nut job (not stupid by any means, mind), thinks this is all due to an ulterior plot to further squeeze our rights, freedoms and bring about more monitoring and control of the general populace.

Whilst I am skeptical of such a view, any changes to human rights laws would need to be done openly, carefully and mustn't be a stepping stone to what I mention above.

The problem would be further down the line if someone in power wished to abuse these loopholes and could 'justify' silencing anyone who opposed their agendas.  Folk may scoff but it's happened before and humans seldom learn from generational lessons . . .

Its odd that two countries with human rights laws, that have welcomed migrants openly, UK and France, are suffering such terrible attacks.

It has been used as a way in and I'd personally be very happy to have greater scrutiny if it meant I had freedom to attend an event, with or without family, without a little nagging thought of 'is it completely safe; what if....'

All talk in election build up of brexit, NHS, education etc will seem irrelevant if this lot isn't addressed quickly.

I know you like proven facts. A YouGov poll of Londoners published on 31 March 2017 (commissioned by Queen Mary University of London, after the Westminster attack) showed that 58% of Londoners said he was doing a good job. He had a popularity rating of net +35 (i.e. those thinking he was doing a good job less those thinking he was doing a bad job).

Out of interest, that compared to approval ratings for Teresa May at +9, Tim Farron at -8 and Jeremy Corbyn at -44.

Yes, one can't argue with proven facts, though I'd have thought he should be getting more than 58% of the vote if he's doing such a sterling job as folk are led to believe.

That leaves 42% who don't think he's doing a good job. A mere 8% from 50/50 so still pretty much a mixed bag isn't it ?

I note that was published on March 31st, I wonder what it would be if they did another after saturday's attack ?

France and the UK as we all obviously know have huge immigration and seen as easy prey in terms of political correctness, human rights etc.

Let's compare our acts of terror on our soil compared to certain countries where's there little immigration, such as Poland, Hungary Czech Republic etc.

All points back to one thing eh mate ?

Too many undesirables slipping in amongst the masses.

Talking about using figures to fit your own purposes. Have you seen the racism that washing through a lot of the countries you mention. Is that what you mean by strength and protecting our own?

You say you like facts and then use none at all.

I get it, you are angry, doesn't mean you are right. Oh, sorry, sweet cheeks, ducky or whatever derogatory term you think we all use in puffy arts. Stuff like poetry, y'know the thing that brought everyone together in Manchester, or music....

Actually, that's not a correct assumption. 58% thought he was doing a good job (almost 1 in 5 said "very well") and only 23% thought he was doing badly (1 in 10 thought "very badly"). Hence a net rating of +35% (58 - 23). 19% of people said they didn't know. My maths was never good, but I think it's more like 70/30 in favour, of those who "do know".

See my post above as to how far ahead of the other leaders he was.

Indeed, it may be very different now.

And a high number of immigrants committing a high number of attacks etc here, Germany,Sweden and France...compared to hardly any in those countries.....isn't that a fact that even you can see ?

As for poetry, aye that worked a treat didn't it ?

I do not want to converse nor debate with you anymore, you really are blinkered.

Fair play Joel for explaining it a bit more clearly now as to your original post.

Like we both have said, it may be different now and I would be genuinely interested to hear about the next poll they do, thanks.

Have a good night, I'm going to settle down to watch the election coverage.

What difference would it make? Not putting words in your mouth but other than being "one of them" why would anyone change their mind just because of Saturday when anyone who cared would know about this so called murky past of his anyway

Were they told to line up? Did they know what was going on beforehand? Do they do something similar usually? Do we really care??

Poor form bringing someone's occupation in to a debate imo.

Yes, not in Crawley was bang out of order for bringing roofs into it yesterday.

No option but to repay the compliment.

I was thinking more in the sense of people thinking differently due to security and the interview on GMB the other day.

As you were......without putting words in your gob either.
