The boogeyman of the left terrorising you again.

You say you don't screech, but you a very quick to label anyone who slightly challenges your views or the views of your 'team' as left and tell everyone all of the time how shit everyone else will be. Comes across a tad screechy!

You don't know me or my political leanings, but go ahead and jump to conclusions and put me in that box if it helps you to defend your position.

Of course punts may work, some of these might and some might not, recent history tells me the policy decisions of this government has been poor so I don't hold out much hope.

I just don't see how policy which helps a tiny proportion of the population far more than the rest, which will drive up interest rates further is in anyway going to help the situation we face this winter and longer term. Especially given the cost burden these measures will have on the country's finances.

I also believe policy which can have long term/irreversible impact on our country and the ecosystems which support it really should have more scrutiny.

Anyway your position is set, there is no reasoning, you will never criticise the decisions of your blue leaders, so this is relatively pointless.

I wont take you up on your suggestion though as I have glued myself to a train before!

Fixing my hornby trains as a kid and got a little over zealous with the adhesive

Some humour - well done. Ani has had a sense of humour transplant apparently.

Heard it all before re 'a small proportion of the population'. It always misses the job creation and wealth creation aspects of the people some are quick to label 'the rich'.

I did screech once when my fiveskin got trapped in the zip of my Lee Riders. Worn 501's ever since as a risk avoidance strategy.

Another pathetic response . You are the biggest sheep on here blindly following your lords and masters, doffing your cap to anything blue. Let's be honest all I have asked is what you think will be better for most people from the budget. It seems you do not know anything. Biggish Dave quoted IR35 being abolished which is a fair point for him and others doing contract work.
A man who gets his opinions from GB News accusing someone else of not thinking for themselves is irony at its best. I have explained why unlimited bankers bonuses is a high risk policy with historical evidence of why.
We both know that being able to unpick the impact of specific policies in the long term is pretty impossible but at a time when people all over the country are struggling this budget has actively targeted rewarding the highest earners with minimal benefit for most people.

You see it as rewarding the biggest earners. I see it as a measure for attracting the biggest and best with potential spin off benefits all over the place, particularly in jobs and wealth creation, income tax receipts etc. Time will tell but of course you'd rather ejaculate prematurely.

Correct, I know nothing. Correct, all of my thoughts and opinions have been fashioned by GB News for over 50 years

Baaaarely pathetic this time?

Liz Truss announces she is relaxing immigration laws to help shortage of workers.

Controlling our own borders and taking back control :D

It might attract the brightest and best, although I expect they have already bolted never to return, but at a huge cost to already decimated public services. Truly an empire of dust.

They can go private though, so they're alright Jack.

Think that’s exactly taking back control of our borders, not having to let all and sundry from the EU in regardless but selected those people from wherever in the world they come from based on what we need in the job market. Thx to Brexit. 😉

Listened to Starmer this morning and you have to say the Tories making it easy for him, choose to give 55k tax benefits per annum to millionaires or spend that money on a couple of nurses, Windfall tax on excess profits or ask the people to pay the fuel benefits back over the next 20 years.

It’s quite clear now the dividing line between the Tories and Labour the genie is well and truly out of the bottle and folk will have a clear choice at the next election.. let’s hope the country gets to vote sooner rather than later.

He can’t answer a direct question. Labour won’t get in with him in charge.

Especially the select 30,000 in Dinghies? Think we were much better off attracting the folk we want when we were members of the biggest trade block and free movement area in world.

Ok it wasn't perfect but at least the crops were being picked, hotels and hospitality had enough staff to operate and we were attractive to European IT workers and the more skilled workers Liz Truss is now crying out for.

I was fooled by the Brexit bollocks didn't look behind Farage and that lot to see who was really pulling the strings. Well they have all been richly rewarded by Kwasi Kwarteng now.

Visas attached to jobs is still having control.

Unlike the last two PMs who during their campaigns have usually evaded any questions or scrutiny when it suited eg Andrew Neill interviews, passing their brexit deal without full parliamentary debate, Downing Street lockdown parties, etc. I mean it is ok to criticise the opposition leader as he should quite rightly be asked to justify what policies he will pursue. However, to use this as a reason why he would not be elected after the Tory antics of the last few years is laughable.

But we couldn’t select who we wanted when freedom of movement was in place. And 30k  in dinghies is partly due to freedom of movement and allowing folk to wander through Europe with said FOM.

Has he reached hiding in fridges levels yet?

Personally I think Starmer is pretty uninspiring as a leader but he was pretty straight this morning with Kuensberg said he would put the top tax rate back up to 45% for the highest earners and would have a windfall tax . Compared to what the ideological cranks in our present government our offering its a no brainer .

This reluctance to use a windfall tax is the last straw for many, id suggest

And giving millionaire earners 55k back each and every year, they’ve made it very clear and simple for folk to understand that they don’t give a toss about normal folk on normal salaries and multi nationals earning excessive profits can also crack on reaping massive profits from the average every day man on the street.

And I have heard it all before that tax cuts generate job creation and wealth creation.

We may see more jobs, but if they are more zero hour contracts that does little to address the issues. Wealth creation will only happen if companies start to increase salaries, which given we have seen a lot of stagnation over the years as the money is taken out at the top all it will do is drive further inequality and widen the gaps.

We need aspiration in society but the bigger those gaps get, the harder it is for people to progress and this has an impact on innovation and risk taking which is what we really need to drive the economy.

Also how long before we see these new jobs and wealth?  Unlikely to be in the short term, so reducing tax intake at a time when borrowing is at its highest it has been in years is an incredible gamble, and if it does go wrong it isn't the ones it is benefitting the most that will suffer the consequences.

Putting aside the rights and wrongs of the non-budget budget it is certainly ideological and makes no consideration for how it will be perceived by the masses and so does nothing to help curb inflation.

The rates at which UK can borrow will not be as low as previously experienced.

Not only does the Cabinet have more scousers than Old Etonians, but the shadow cabinet has more Oxbridge members than the actual Cabinet does.

But Kwasi captained a winning University Challenge team. Usually the 'cleverest' members of the government are kept well away from key posts!

Vote labour 🙄
