You are supposed to claim asylum at a UK border by telling the Border Force staff you want to claim asylum. If you are already in the UK there is a hotline you can ring. 

There is a set eligibility criteria, one of the stipulations is that you are not supposed to have travelled via a "safe third country" therefore as I interpret it you need to travel directly from your "home" country to the UK and not traipse half way across Europe to get here.

With the Rwanda situation, I’ve heard many different opinions. Not sure who is right or wrong. As ever.
Will the migrants in France now decide to stay where they are and not risk the dangerous crossing over the sea?  Is France that bad that they want to risk their lives to come to the U.K.?

Not sure what alternatives there are on this, its obvious the government trying to deter immigrants from crossing the channel.
What was labours position last election perhaps they can/have come up with an alternative that folk would vote for.

But It’s also very wrong to say hang on you’ve come from france which is deemed safe and you should have stayed there off you pop and then return them to where they came from originally! why not back to France if we are going down that route?

and you’re spot on any Ukrainians that fled to neighbour if countries that we are now welcoming in should by the letter of the law be deported back to Ukraine  

problem is we make it up as we go along as always

Which this why this awful law they recently brought in will be legally challenged.

It really is a shithouse decision this, just nasty for no reason. It will prove to be very costly imo.

I know the Partridge comparison has been made, but can you imagine being in a meeting in any job, in any sector and someone saying let's ship it all of to Rwanda and everyone thinking it was a good idea ?

I’m sure labour would try and get on with our neighbours in an amicable way as we need to work together. Our current government are untrustworthy and that is not helping.

We should send all our peados to Rwanda as well while we are at it.

Surely a cheaper option would be to send a few of the posters off here to France and get them to explain to the asylum Seekers how shit this country is, after a few hours with the likes of Cheese it would either put them off or make them suicidal.
