Jeremy Hunt is not an improvement.

This party is in all sorts of problems at the moment.

His cabinet have all be backing him publicly but they all have eyes on the job, as do a couple of others. A few, like the Chancellor and possibly Raab, who have been supporting him publicly but have been slighted by him will be against. So these guys and their supporters will likely vote him out. The right will be figuring out who to represent them, Baker or Brady and the centrists with Hunt or even an unknown. Only cast iron for him are Dorris and Patel who have not got a chance in hell of another job as senior as they hold once he is ousted.

He’s a cockroach.

He is but he won’t survive much longer.

Even Hunt would be a welcome change. That’s how bad things are.

It would be nice to have a Tory leadership that’s just not as seedy and rotten as this lot.

However, the safe bet is that he survives and spends yet another day saying he’s humbled, and is listening, and that the public just want him to get on with the job.

How he can get on with the job when he’s constantly being asked to justify his fuck ups is beyond me, but here we are.

I’m not sure he will survive this vote. There will be many Tory MPs considering this very carefully. It would not be a great look for the party to keep him in office and risk more constant side shows of law breaking, lies and bullshit. Even if he survives narrowly that may be enough for him to fall on his sword (or be gently pushed onto it).

I’d be surprised if Johnson loses, however it might be better if the Tory party get shut and move on as it’s only going to rumble on until he’s replaced.

May survived a Confidence Vote, but was gone within 6 months.

That's a shame.

Exactly.

Even if he survives he's a dead man walking.

agreed

He'll survive tonight, but if they lose these two upcoming bi-elections, then he'll be toast

But they can't have another vote of no confidence within a year can they?

So he's getting it out of the way now and you're hoping he'll do the honourable thing and step down when they get twatted in the by elections

The thing is that people still seem surprised that he's been so shit.

If this was Tory Wanderers FC and he was manager, Anewman would have hounded him out 18 months ago.

Let's hope a Vote of Confidence later has the same effect a football one does.

Hope he stays until the next election

Hang on, forgot to add........

......the fucking prick.

What was I thinking?

And he will survive, because the majority of Tory MPs are also amoral shithouses.

I knew he'd be shit from day one. He's the Dougie of politics.

They can do whatever the fuck they want. Party Rules aren't Laws.

That's the problem

Red Wall MPs & marginals worried about their seats. Maybe some MPs with genuine morals getting on board. But if Labour & the SNP are all in favour for Johnson going then that says a lot.

Team BJ.

If I was a Tory big wig I'd get rid of him now in order to win the next general election, get a fresh face in place without the party-gate/PPE/T&T pandemic hangover and re-spin everything over the next two years... then well placed to beat Starmer especially as he has now been tainted by beer & curry. Best thing for Labour would be for Johnson to stay in place.

If Johnson survives will he go for a snap autumn election?

You're using the idea that "MP's with genuine morals" want him out as a reason to support him? The mind truly boggles.

Only a Bozo fan could come up with that logic😂

Wouldn't you say there's probably more MPs on both sides of the House towing the line? In most cases morals only come in to the equation if it increases the individuas character with their constituents. Whips will tolerate this to a point.
