I’ve always been fairly lukewarm on Starmer. Like felt he was a bit Kinnock like. Good to clear the party of the Corbyn nut jobs and sort out Labour to make them electable for someone else to come and do the job. However, even I am having to reassess. We read about his ruthlessness and that’s evident today. He was cautious during the campaign which I understood but was at times frustrating. But he looks to have real authority now. Can’t remember the last time a PM felt like this? Early days Cameron maybe? That’s a push I think.

Although when the window cleaner up today and I had no cash on me it was a bit stressful , I had to break into my pound coin jar.

Retired?!?!?! Show off cunt - I'll die working 😄

PMQ’s was all rather civilised, calm even, certainly compared to the cackling, incomprehensible shitshow it’s been for the last few years.

This goes for the Tories too, by the way.

its amazing what happens when the grown ups get involved.

Economically very left leaning. Socially very right wing. Well he pretended to be at least. I don’t think he knew what he was given his whole life was built on contradictory lies.

He's Churchillian you know.....

So they adhere to a viewpont they don't follow - that makes sense 😉

Farage is right wing. The open-borders, high taxation and free money for grifters lot certainly aren't.

Labour and Conservatives are the same fcking thing 😘❤️

You sound like an anarchist pal 😁

Makes perfect sense if you’re so incompetent & self serving that you can’t deliver it.

If Reform were to come in power tomorrow & fail to deliver on some policies, that wouldn’t make them no longer right wing.

The Tories delivered plenty of right wing policies, just look at the changes they made to education . Labour have immediately stepped in and implemented change.

Yes they share some similarities, but they are vastly different in other areas. You’re just choosing to ignore them.

Do you not think something is amiss here? Why are people protesting about immigrants being returned?

most protests i have seen are against govt enacting laws that breach international conventions/laws, whatever you want to call them

“It will be the first time a flight has returned failed asylum seekers to the country since 2021”

Fck me, the Tories were an absolute joke with asylum policy. Doing absolutely nothing other than opening barges & more hotels whilst the backlog increases.

Good to see Labour processing & sending folk back.

Isn’t that because of the agreement signed in April by the last government and Vietnam?

did they process the 50 failed applications, too?

I’ve no idea. Do you? I was replying to LW who said that the Tories did absolutely nothing. They negotiated the agreement that allowed the return (has it happened yet?) of illegal immigrants to Vietnam that Labour are now taking the credit for. 🤷‍♂️

i don't know, thats why i asked

i do know that they key to getting shut is processing folk

if the tories processed em, then they can have the credit

The Tories seemed to like signing return agreements then saying it was too hard to process and return anyone. I think it was done for political gain. They wanted to pretend Rwanda (their dividing line) was the be all and end all and nothing else would work. It was just to try and save an election.

Not really no. Vietnam’s a safe country, folk didn’t kick up much a fuss when the Albanians were sent back either.

Do you think something is amiss?

I thought you said the green haired people weren’t protesting? Are they now?

aren’t*

I’d say Jamaica is a safe country.

Partially , that was an extension to the existing deal, really strange that having set the agreement they did not use it.

It was only 3 months ago, I don’t know why🤷‍♂️. It does question the 2021 headline though. People like headlines and ignore facts. Over 10,000 illegal immigrants have been returned this year. Again, dispelling the myth that the Tories did nothing.

That may or may not be enough. How do you quantify what is or isn’t ‘enough’?

It was you who brought up the Vietnamese repatriation as some sort of victory for the new government. As you say, a safe country with a recent agreement to return illegals.

It was an extension of the existing deal. The fact flights were going in 2021 shows the facility was there.

Labour coming in and just doing simple day to day actions is an improvement on the Tories inaction of recent years. 55 due to go today compared to 4 for £700m in the Rwanda scheme is a small step in the right direction. You would have to be pretty blinkered not to see that as I am sure you would agree ?

Folk have been going all the time, but just not fast enough.

Obviously Rwanda has gone, but no new legislation has been introduced as yet.

The actions are carried out by civil servants at the home office, according to instructions/laws.

Hopefully something new and more stringent will come along. But even if it does, those pesky lawyers will be picking at it.

It’s been used by the left wing cranks for over a year and everyone normal has just ignored it.

How can over 11,000 returned this year be inaction? You’re making a big issue of 55. I don’t get it.🤷‍♂️
