And we have the problems you have identified. Almost all were fixed by our EU membership but now it’s hard to fix them. Every country in the world is facing the same issues though. Health inflation running higher and higher. Declining working populations. Populations who don’t like immigration. And couple that with China, India and everything else. It’s a bit grim. What is it with the EU-worshipping and your mob? The EU are fcked, the Yanks have just elected a guy we all wish we had. We need to suck up to Trump and our American brethren 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 Quote

Only worse because all the grown ups realized the man was a complete authoritarian loon. In the EU businesses could import cheap labour - much of which was transient. Poles. Eastern Europeans. Came, did jobs helped economy and a lot didn’t stay forever. Now we are having to import 800,000 a year plus from India, Middle East and Africa. And they mostly come here for good. And all our growth is entirely built on growing the numbers working. Not sure if you’ve looked at birth charts but outside of the EU immigration is only going to get higher and higher. Or we all become poorer. Edited November 20, 2024 by bwfcfan5 Quote

If the Russian tanks had gone in the other direction and rolled into Mongolia, would you still want us to assist? Quote

Guest Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 The money we are spending to help Ukraine defend herself against Russia is a pittance compared to the defence spending we will need should Russia take Ukraine and think the might match into other countries. The idea that Ukraine money would be used for non defence budget is ridiculous. We have a commitment to increase defence spending - something Trump will demand no doubt - but no way to pay for it. You're paranoid to the extreme, as if Russia are playing Command & Conquer with Trump on the other end of the blower. Why have the left wing turned into war hawks? It'll always be the poorest/weakest (for want of a better word) that suffer most in any cost cutting exercise. I'm also not sure, that as a collective, Pensioners are close to being the poorest or worst off in society to be honest either (of course some will be, but I bet the majority are better off than the majority of 30/40 year olds*) *I have no proof of this, it's just a feeling based on the circle of people I know, and the place where I live Of course the average pensioner is better off than the average 30 to 40 year old, we’ve had twice as long to earn it and earn it we did not getting half the benefit pay outs this lazy, entitled mob get now. Pensioners struggled to put money into a mortgage, pay into a pension as well as paying taxes and putting kids through school. We also suffered through much worse recessions than any 30 to 40 years olds have seen, 3 day weeks, high unemployment, negative equity on property and mortgage rates of 20%. We learned how to save, make do and we didn’t mind hand me downs instead of designer labels so maybe we deserve to be better off? Quote

Farrelli Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 https://www.mi5.gov.uk/director-general-ken-mccallum-gives-latest-threat-update If you think we are just getting excited about nothing then listen to the warning from MI5 recently.
