Chancellor estate ages apologises for oversight on Reeves' rental agreementpublished at 17:31

17:31BREAKING

Harvey Wheeler, the London estate agents used by Rachel Reeves to rent out her property in south London, have apologised to her for an "oversight".

The firm says they did not apply for a licence on her behalf, having offered to do so.

We will bring you the full statement in a moment

I don’t know why folk like Kemi don’t just wait a day or two before jumping in studs up.

Save themselves from looking a dick in the long run

There is poverty in the north - and ive also been saying it for a lomg time in terms of economic disparity.

And yes you still need data rather than what i saw-isms

Also, if it is reality then maybe get on board with the economic not solely migrant narrative and stop being a supercilious over simplified points argumentative little turnip😊

I’m fully on board cocker. I see it with my own eyes.

Good move from Rachel, she was ahead of the game and I respect that as a fellow player 🙂

Old Joicey her husband who also works in finance within the Government (earning a bigger wage than her) is not subject to the Ministerial Code and takes the flack.

I respect fellow chancers 🙂

Good to hear.

Ie the last thing a poverty stricken town full of skint angry folk is boat loads of asylum seekers.

But what they actually need is investment in their towns. Blaming the already poor people isnt a solution, its an easy blame.

And also, these councils are skint, money from being gateway towns has helped the most basic of services. Its a massively long term, complex, generational issue.

But like i say, i was really taken aback by the way Wigan looked, so many young blokes pissed in the middle of the day. I just dont think it was the same in the 90s.

Al lot of people looking very silly, because of Rachel reeves.

Bad day for them, that is.

Still more to it... how did a nonentity gadger working in building living in Lincolnshire (me) know about this and posted about it two months ago?

Smoke comes from fire...

She’s done nowt wrong.

But don’t worry, she’ll be out after the budget anyway. Such is life at the top of politics.

We all know full well, that in opposition Labour would have done exactly the same.

It's the way modern politics is.

Remember when SKS said that Johnson and Sunac should go just for being investigated for a breach of covid rules?

Then didn't resign himself when he was investigated?

What goes around, comes around.

It's a sad state of affairs when so much political effort is consumed by parties in trying to get one over the other, over fairly trivial matters.

But that's the way of things.

It doesn't seem that the local authority concerned is going to take any action, but technically, she still broke the law, and could be prosecuted if the council had chosen to do so.

That will no doubt be the continued thrust of opposition parties.

I don't think much of her personal accounting though- or her accountant's; given that she hadn't needed to cough up for the license fee. :)

Reeves is another...

Earns 150k as Chancellor, married to a government civil servant (who was until recently advising the treasury) who earns 175k. Both have moved into 11, Downing Street and now rent their London properties out for 75k. Also declares donations from Lord Sainsbury to assist her in her work, all on top of the gifts from party backers.

There'll be more if you take time to dig around.

They're all champagne socialists with their noses in the troughs, at least with the Tories you knew they were wealthy upper class bastards 😐

Cool the self-congratulation. You didn't mention anything about her not having a landlord licence.

Did she break the law ?

A simple yes or no reply is all we need

We all know that one word is hard for your type

Yes or No

You're welcome to carry on believing whatever tripe that is pushed your way, some of us are more sceptical.

It's an odd one all this isn't it?

Seems almost cruel in a way.

However, to draw a comparison; if you pay someone to dispose of rubbish for you, but they instead fly-tip it, you are still liable, and can be prosecuted.

Apparently I struggle saying yes or no.

Ive just proven that theory wrong.

I’ve read the emails.

Im no expert like TMGJ, but poor old Reeves was deceived by the letting agent.

It probably happens a lot, but if SHE had broken the law I’m sure SHE would be behind bars right now.

So, for argument’s sake, I put my house up for rent, the letting agent didn’t do what they said they’d do, my wife would be breaking the law?

He’s the expert.

I bet her hubby is being allowed in her back garden tonight for finding those emails.
