Having had a proper read up it's not just the decision in 2020 to treat him in the community due to “research that shows over-representation of young black males in detention” (not sure that counts as not wanting to be racist) but failure to act by the police on at least 2 occasions and his release from psychiatric care in 2022 when he clearly shouldn't have been.

This a collosal fuck up by all responsible parties, pinning it on 'he was free cos some do gooder type didn't want to seem racist' let's the rozzers and other officials off the hook massively.

The consideration re. the overrepresentation of black males in custody and the influence it had on the decision to release him will almost certainly be the result of a concern over the potential for unconcious bias, if not racism

I'm not sure it can really be anything else

But it's right that all those culpable to come under scrutiny

The decision to discharge him in late 2022 while he was refusing to take his medication or engage properly with staff seems like it might need some explaining

There needs to be accountability for these instances. It’s clearly a huge failure in this public service. The issue is, if staff get sent down or become culpable legally for things like this, the care system will really struggle (even more) to recruit

Maybe, but then again there is already legal duty on employers and employees with regards to safeguarding.

HSE can undertake prosecutions.

Should the care sector be free from such standards?

Maybe, if someone is prosecuted, it might clear out those incapable of, or unwilling to make to right decisions, and encourage those with a genuine desire to do the job properly, to do the work.

Sort out all the nonsense around DEI too.

Dark Lord arrested.

Same accusation as Andrew.

Thick as fuck. Simple as that. And our country is absolutely chock full of them. It's going to be fucking hilarious when they elect Farage. It'll be shit for everyone unfortunately, but I will take great delight in laughing at them specifically when he fucks their lives up.

Hold on there Tonto...

I'd like to think that anybody who knows anything about football knew what a great appointment Emery was in 2022. I'm not even sure he was an unmitigated disaster at Arsenal, I think personally they pulled the trigger too soon. His record with both Valencia and Sevilla was good. Anybody can do well in Spain...if you're at Barcelona or Real Madrid, otherwise it's always going to be tricky.

As for Gyokeres, he's nowhere near the standard of playing for one of the top teams in the world, like the previous big money forward from Portugal (Nunez) big money that is/was ultimately wasted  -  scoring goals in Portugal is the equivalent of scoring them in the Scottish Premier League, to be ignored, as take away the top couple of teams ,and the rest are absolute dogshit.

So, going back to being a "visionary"  - with regards to Emery, give over, most knew he'd do OK with a club like Villa, especially after the debacle of Gerrard being in charge (...let's go back to how utter dogshit Portuguese and Scotch football is....why appoint somebody who won a league with Rangers, it means almost nothing)

Shite (or something like that).

You mean ‘latest new Churchill’ which puts him on a pedestal with Boris, May, Truss but not Rishi.

Anyone else think it odd it takes a global news item on the scale of Epstein for this shit to come to light.

Clearly our own security services do not check on the activities of senior officials or this and many other dodgy activities would have been uncovered already.

I'd feel much more comfortable as a citizen if proactive prosecutions were the norm rather than reactive ones.

As someone who has had the pleasure of several intrusive security vetting interviews, I always wondered if it was a bag of bollocks unless you self-disclosed? clearly it is.

I think it highlights the level of corruption within the ‘ruling class’ a total air of self entitlement of people who have thought themselves above or outside the law.

Agreed, but hasn't it always been thus??

Hence why the apparatus of the state, I had hoped, was meant to mitigate against and protect the nation from adversaries.

Pretty pointless having huge defence budget if you're riddled with collaborators.

Equally there have always been scandals of some type surrounding the elite. Game and money leads to corruption time after time. The potential levels and scale of the Epstein activity that makes it stand out.

There seems to be quite a few of these community notes getting attached to Starmers posts.

In the face of Starmers record breaking ratings, his deluded supporters have to try something.
