desert
Even found a clip poetry in motion remember SKD bossing Arsenal around, set up a goal against them by robbing/twating their left back (some baldy white bloke).

Lostock Whites
Clough is much better than Armstrong in my opinion. Think he’d do well for us, but not if we just soley relied on him. Doubt he will return tho.

Site Supporter MickyD Posted November 6, 2017 Site Supporter Share Posted November 6, 2017 I remember him doing Kolerov in the first 5 seconds of the first match of the season against CIty. Mind you, was about all he did that season. poetry in motion remember SKD bossing Arsenal around, set up a goal against them by robbing/twating their left back (some baldy white bloke). Nearly as good as Alan Thomson hitting Kinkladse and bundling him down the drop at Burnden. He was City's danger man and we didn't see him for rest of game. jules_darby
We were 2 rows behind the Half time free pasties so close to glory. Back to the game one of the highlights for me was Ameobi chasing a ball to close down the keeper then Madine on next player, then Vela till ball was kicked out for a throw in, crowd went crazy. Just good to see the level of commitment especially from Ameobi and Madine who maybe in the past have not chased as much as we might hope. Yep, superb that. Before Vela came back we'd have one player pressing and so they'd easily play it around us. Madine was encouraging the others to press quite a bit during the game and Vela does it very well. Vela, Sammy and Henry make other teams much less comfortable on the ball. Makes a huge difference IMO

Makes a huge difference IMO I think if we sit back and let opposition defences pass it amongst themselves, then press them once they try advancing upwards. Then we can go far. Norwich game was a great example of how to play against teams in this league. Teams love to pass it about with fancy little players. We might not necessarily have the players to do that, but we can match it with work rate and tenacity.
ex_midlandwhite
I'd love to have Clough back but not to do the wide role, high workrate based job Armstrong is having to do at the moment
Eddie
I'd love to have Clough back but not to do the wide role, high workrate based job Armstrong is having to do at the moment There’s no other role available when all are fit. There is no way anyone is replacing Vela in the no.10 role because his work rate is too important to the team (plus he seems to be linking with Madine more and more). Clough also used to link well with vela; maybe says something about vela's quality.
