November 19, 20178 yr I saw him a couple of times last time he did his stint. Was half tempted to go again but decided against it. He is very good though
November 20, 20178 yr I suppose comedy is like beauty and is in the eye of the beholder,personally think hes genius can watch Phoenix Nights and Paddy and Max over again and spot something new going on didn't find car share side splitting but very clever,however i could sit and watch Ricky Gervais all night long and not crack a smile .Could be a north south thing or an age thing.
November 20, 20178 yr Myself and a mate who used to knock around town in our missed spent youth reckon he modeled Max on a very well known doorman who i think came from the same area as Peter Kay I'm sure a few on here will know who I mean very similar mannerisms as a certain T R .

November 20, 20178 yr Ricky Gervais is definitely marmite but it's not a north south thing. I think he's great and an absolute genius. Peter Kays TV is superb whereas I think his stand up act had gone a bit stale last time I saw him

November 20, 20178 yr Yes, over the top, spoils the act. Observational comedy for housewives and the middle classes. His school run skit was mildly funny and rang true somewhat.
