SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 We didn’t play with fullbacks against Sheff U though, we played 3-5-2, so that’s probably not the “usual” answer for PP You're right, they were wingbacks on that day. Point is still valid though, our fullbacks when we do play four across the back have been tending to head forwards regularly. Quote
Guest Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Time for a PP moan. PP decides on 442, with a 'target man' and a 'poacher'. Who I would assume would thrive off crosses, in a standard 442 with two wingers. PP decides on a left footer on the right and a right footer on the left. What the actual fuck is that about? Ameobi likes to play on the right. Its where he wants to play. Noone likes to do the opposite. I do agree that at times PP should try switching players over because it can become predictable. Quote
jules_darby Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I’ve really liked the look of No one when we’ve seen him in patches - direct, aggressive and a pace that really helps in this league Reckon there’s any scope for him being anything other ham a back up? Quote

Biggish Dave Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Noone looks like a grafter too, i'd certainly start him on Saturday on the left Quote
Traf Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 The annoying thing about the game at the weekend now the dust has settled is that Huddersfield were there for the taking and the subsequent draw of Birmingham at home could have seen us in Round 5. Quote

frank_spencer Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Ameobi likes to play on the right. Its where he wants to play. Ameobi best skill is cutting in from the right and twatting the ball proper hard with his left peg. Quote
Zico Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Ameobi best skill is cutting in from the right and twatting the ball proper hard with his left peg. And to be fair hes not too bad at getting the ball and running out wide with it before cutting in and getting a ball in We've not had a proper decent winger since David Lee v Liverpool Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Do many teams play with a winger in the traditional sense these days though? It’s all about wide midfielders playing on the wrong side and underlapping/overlapping full backs, isn’t it? They’ll be back in fashion soon enough though, I’m sure. Quote
HomerJay Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 its happened all the games ameobi has started, hasnt it in fact, im sure hes played on the right when ive seen him play against us Yes, but when we play 3 in attack. Quote

City have a pretty decent left footer on the left in Sane. Quote
Biggish Dave Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Back in my day, your back 4 stayed there, 2 wingers a hard man and a ball player in midfield, a big man and a nippy little tartliner up top. I wonder if them days will ever come back. Jumpers for goal posts etc Quote

RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 City have a pretty decent left footer on the left in Sane. I don't see any madness in it at all... Quote
