Rummenigge.

I'm guessing that was the punchline to the black barman when someone commented on how packed it was in the bar?

Oh, how he laughed!

So you even read racism into the surname of a famous footballer?

Have a long hard look at yourself matey. Who really thinks like a racist?

It's an old joke

Probably originally told by Chubby Brown

this is actually something Bolty is in favour of, which surprised me, given he didn't like it when they had a mixed race family in the remake of Worzel Gummidge

(for the record, I don't think they should, or don't see the point really)

Thats the sort of letter you would see in Viz

on the subject of racism

I was surprised at the conclusion of the FA report into ex Crawley manager John Yems

findings from the report:

  • Ex-Crawley Town boss used highly offensive racist language to players
  • John Yems used "offensive, racist and Islamophobic" language and joked that a Muslim player was a terrorist
  • Yems, 63, was banned from football for 18 months
  • The FA said the case was "extremely serious" and "involved racist bullying over a significant period of time".
  • It stressed that Yems' "lack of remorse or insight" and the "repetitive nature of the misconduct" were aggravating factors.
  • How Yems used a racial slur to describe some of the club's black players and deliberately mis-pronounced a name to make it sound like a racially offensive term.
  • Yems used a racial stereotype to two black players who were playing darts. He then repeated a racial slur and "made gestures as if using a blowpipe".
  • How one player feigned illness in order to avoid Yems' 'banter' about eating curry.
  • A Muslim player became the subject of jokes about "being a terrorist". He was asked if he slept with a gun and if he carried a bomb in his bag.
  • Yems used a racial stereotype to a black player of African origin by asking if he liked jerk chicken - a dish associated with the Caribbean.
  • Another player returning from international duty was told he should not train with the squad. Yems commented on his colour "then put his hand over his mouth saying he should not say that".

BUT

the FA disciplinary commission "accepted that Mr Yems is not a conscious racist".

makes you wonder

where is the line?

To be fair, the FA panel was made up of Suarez, John Terry and a bloke from Morecambe.

Must be nonsense.

we’ve no problems of racism in the game.

And any problems we do have are only because players started taking the knee.

Tell you what I did notice on saturday

everyone in our team took the knee at kick off.

Except Randall

Who’s a darkie.

A bloke sitting not very far away from me turned his back as they did it.

No no no, that's caused huge outbreaks of Communism. Can't move for Trots trying to make the stands a common treasury for all at the match nowadays.

If you turn your back and folk are standing then are you then not facing someone's crotch?

That can't be true.  All the players are made to do it!

Must be in protest against all the racism that's resulted from players taking the knee.

If we didn't keep talking about it, it would go away.

Well, that's what some think, believe it or not

Yet keeping "talking" about it hasn't stopped it neither.

Talk is cheap and meaningless if not backed up with positive, sensible actions and/or is seen as discriminatory in its own right.

Something which the kick it out campaign had succeeded in doing.

Got worse and more divided since.
