  • For the record, I've never had any business dealings with captainmed. I hardly know the bloke and he certainly doesn't know me or my business. It's not the best review I've had, but you can't win

Reet cuntoes 😒 48 hours in Lisbon...I know there's a thread. Put Jonathan Ranganathan - so-called 'Travel Man' to shame...never been here before so don't send us on the arse end of the Metro to some semi-gay palace or such...

and mine.

Lisbon is constantly changing, in July even more had been gentrified. I hired a scooter and whizzed around at my leisure. It's the future.

Didn't go away so first time...It's alreet - lots of nice girls if only ten years younger...fucking hilly. Easy walk down t'river beach...conceded defeat and got a taxi back...cheap as chips aside from having a sit down on aforementioned river beach and 50€ note down the swanee (tagus).

Some young scamps nearly got clotheslined last neet taking liberties on their scooters...not seen owt like that before.

If someone does take the routes on, and there's no reason why they wouldn't, especially on routes where TC had a virtual monopoly, then fares would need to be higher than TC were charging, as they've already proved to be loss makers.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Ryanair looked to get more involved.

Hurghada on a Saturday would be good. TUI and EasyJet flying into there but charging extortionate rates at the minute for shit times - and the latter don't evening include checked-in luggage!

Our holiday in November with TC binned off now. CAA/ATOL still not got their online claims working either. Hoping for next Monday.

Was under the impression Thomas Cook Airlines was profitable to the tune of £100m last year. Or so one of their disillusioned pilots was claiming.

Lad reckons Thomas Cook Sport was the only profitable arm of Thomas Cook.

Ryanair wouldn't get involved in direct flights to Egypt, I wouldn't have thought.

Speaking of ryanair, they have flights that im interested in for next sumner

Never seen them before on the route im looking at

Anyway, are the pilots likely to be on strike, or will the demise of TC concentrate some minds?

Ryanair air fookin crap. I've flown maybe twice with them. I'd gladly pay quite a bit more or go elsewhere to avoid them.

Shit seats, RIP off booze, wanker owner, idiots who fly with them etc. Not for me

Ive only ever used em to rome

No issuues at all, apart from some twat deciding to have a heart attack so we had to land in paris

Granted, the seats arent the comfiest

No issues with Ryanair.
Booking process is deliberately confusing, but if you know the system and play to their rules, they're basically what you want for short-haul ie cheap A to B flights.

If you think the booze is a rip off, have a couple of hours off it.

Think we did nimes with them and that was ok, too

Well done traffington

In fact, I'm flying back with them at the end of half term.

Flying with Ryanair in a couple of hours. Nearly cost as much for putting luggage in the hold (£50) as it did for the flight itself (£58). Still, you can’t grumble at that price for a return flight to Majorca. Flown with them previously to Girona and Charleroi without any issue and, to be fair, they were very quick at refunding my flights when they were cancelled because of the volcanic ash cloud the other year.

Nailed on that today’s flight will be delayed for about 15 hours and we’re given enough vouchers for 2 Jacob’s crackers and a pint of piss.

£174 in vouchers?

never had an issue with ryanair, and ive used them a lot

we got diverted to liverpool because of the snow coming back into manchester from rome a few years back

the coach from liv to mcr was already waiting when we got our bags

i seem to be the only one not to have an issue with them

Pilot changed his mind about landing when we were about 50 feet above the runway. Did a loop of the island then had another go at landing. Not the sort of thing you want when you’re already in need of a toilet visit.

No, I think I've already said similar.

Nearly always go Ryanair for short flights they usually take off on time and land early and while the seats are not the best when you've shared a transit van to Bristol city with 18 lads its good enough for a a 2 1/2 fight.

Ryanair are basic and cheap. Not an issue when you are on a short flight.

They're ok for short stay where you can fit the clothing for the trip in a carry on case but it's nothing short of extortion that a case in the hold almost doubles your fare.

Pre-booked hold luggage on Ryanair is cheaper than TUI, cheaper than TC were, similar to Jet2 and admittedly a little dearer than Easyjet.

PS If luggage doubles your fare, then it shows what a bargain you had 😉

Carry on case is tiny now with RyanAir but as Traf says when your flight is £50 then the same again for 20kg hold luggage is still a bargain.
