  • For the record, I've never had any business dealings with captainmed. I hardly know the bloke and he certainly doesn't know me or my business. It's not the best review I've had, but you can't win

I've never actually been

Been to koutoulafari which is next door and imo better, but tbf, one blends into the other

Then the other way out of pisco takes you to old hersonnisos which is great

Basically an old square surrounded by tavernas

Anyway, you cant fail to enjoy

I'll PM you

The down side to koutoloufari is the big fucking hill coming back from hersonissos.

Oh that and the antique plumbing meaning you can't flush your shitty bog roll

That hill is far from the worst me and big toe have come across

That dishonour goes to lourdas on kefalonia

And I've never not flushed my bog roll

After a year off booked Portugal for 2020 and likely do an Easter break somewhere

Early November winter sunshine. CBA with going back to Cape Verde. Mrs won't go near the Canaries (TBF I've been more times than I can count).

Are we stuck with T'egypt if we are chasing the sun? Had a quick gander - Sunrise Royal Aqua Makadi Bay - has a few waterslides - beach has coral within a few feet of getting in, pools are heated. Alternatives Albatros Citadel at Sahl Hasheesh or Sentido Mamlouk nearer to Hurghada itself.

Anyone been any of these 3????

Got back from Tenerife last night, had a great week, roll on October for Bulgaria and Czech Republic - a nice 7 dayer for the England games

I’m in Gib for the Czech game, never been there watching England

We're doing the double header, Bulgarias then on to Czech and flying home from Budapest, a bit of travelling but Easyjet pulled the flight for the prague to Manchester flight and it was about £330 to get home by another airline, £40 from Budapest

Its usually mid 70s in Southern Spain early November and very pleasant, worth a second look as it will be cheap flights as well.  If you want heated pool try the Villitania hotel a few miles outside Benidorm (its a different world from Benidorm) it has an outdoor heated pool, its a Melia Hotel.

Jordan and Israel - anyone been? Especially land border crossings between the two, Visas etc.

I know there's Google but I trust the seasoned travellers advice off here more better.

Went to Taba  in Egypt a few years ago and you can see them from the coast , was going to go on a day trip to Jordan then a car bomb went off the night before and spoiled it for everyone

Taba was lovely, really secluded in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, I did similar. Went to Jerusalem on a day tour.

Border was fine but it was really militarized as I perhaps should have expected.

You don't need a visa for Israel. I think you do for Jordan but I think it's just an online formality.

Been to both, Jordan on a cruise, so didn’t take the county in as we sailed into port aquaba and just stayed on the boat, Israel stayed in Eilat, really enjoyed it but was about 20 years ago, went north to tell aviv via the Dead Sea, and Jerusalem tour which is a weird place but a must do, missed a trick by not taking in Petra, stayed in the hotel sport which was decent back then.

Like others, did Taba and took the day trip to Jordan. Boat over to the port of Aqaba and then bus to Petra. Was stunning. Don’t recall any fuss with visas.

Our lot are doing Czech, we're out on Thursday via Amsterdam then back on Monday direct with Jet2. Avoiding paying £6 a pint in Prague so we're staying in a posh hotel in Plzen for half the price, into Prague for the match so I'll text you and we'll have a beer. Can tell I'm getting old as all the accomodation I book these days is away from the place the match is being played

I went to South America a couple of years ago, Argentina, Peru and Columbia for work. They’re brilliant and really beautiful places to go, Argentina is a bit mental, it’s like no one is in charge but a really nice place and the natives are friendly enough.
Peru was good for Machu Picchu but not a lot else.
Columbia is brilliant, i did the Full Escobar/Medellin tour which was fucking superb.

Cuba I’ve done on a separate holiday which was great especially if you like history. ( Cuban Revolution/Missile Crisis/Bay of pigs)
