Howardroark Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Put quite simply, unless he’s fronting for somebody (and let’s be honest, why would they pick him?) he cannot have access to the £30M-£50M he would need. You just cannot go from double bankruptcy to £50M in post tax funds inside 5 years, especially without a LTD company for 3.5 of those 5 years. Walter Mitty

If they’re needing a job surely that adds weight to the argument that they’re involved... I believe in your bidders though, Howard. I have to. If you had to put a ratio on it between Bassini and your people, what would it be? 70-30 to your bidder?

Walter Mitty You think he’s just Ken’s mate doing him a favour by creating a bidding war though or is he trying to get more spotlight on “clearing his name” bit of both perhaps?

Howardroark Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Considering Mr Bassini has such wealth I find it odd that until recently he was living in a friends flat.... said friend took him to court over £8k of unpaid rent. http://m.newslocker.com/en-uk/region/hillingdon/former-watford-fc-owner-laurence-bassini-in-legal-rent-wrangle-with-old-friend/view/ He also tried to buy Portsmouth in 2013. So I would say he’s probably not going to be buying the club.

Most of the interview is about him clearing his name.

Can only hope your bidders aren’t in that category and can take us forward.
Howardroark Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 For anybody wondering how Bassini managed to fund his time at Watford, he took out loans against transfers and parachute payments...... sound familiar?

Are there any similar owners (in football league at the moment) to the mystery consortium that you could imagine them copying their style? eg like Wolves throwing loads of money at it or Watford with their feeder club in Spain I think? Don’t quote me on the specifics... Just mean is there anyone in football now that we could maybe look at as a similar style ownership to these prospective buyers?

Gonk Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 They will get paid on Wednesday after Howies mates take control on Tuesday evening.
royal white Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Does anyone Else think that the other bidders (Howard’s lot) are the Supporters Trust.

Why would a creditor who previously believed they would be paid in full accept a lower amount on account of KA getting more cash? The point I was making was that a new owner creates optimism amongst creditors about getting more than in liquidation, but that’s only a ploy to stop them chasing through the WU order currently in a place. Is this a fact Howard? It's just that for the last two years I've been saying elsewhere that Anderson inherited a balance sheet of >£40 million and I suspected he has been running the club into the ground whilst lining his own pockets ever since. And that I heard several rich and respectable potential buyers were pissed off by his obnoxious behaviour and unreasonable demands and ended up walking And more recently (before I re-registered for WW) that I suspected Anderson would be likely to put his own pocket ahead of the club's best interest when he inevitably had to sell the club when the money ran out. Obviously I got tons of abuse for expressing these suspicions, but in the absence of facts, I agreed that it was best to wait until show and tell time. Now I know that according to the accounts Anderson wiped >£4 million off the value of the club in his first year and that the accounts haven't been filed since. So do you know for a fact that the debts are £12 million more than stated? And if so is that £12 million more than the accounts he submitted to the potential buyers (naughty!) or £12 million more than the last filed accounts (period to July 2017)? And if it's the former, do you happen to know what the balance sheet value of the club is ATM? (I know the Balance Sheet isn't a perfect measure of value but it's a good indicator assuming the same convention is used)
