I've seen her sup plenty of lager back in the day!!

Maggies a nice enough lady, her politics might not be to everyones taste - but she's a massive Wanderers fan.

I used to knock about in the same group as Maggie and her sister around Harwood. At that time, 76-82 (aged 14-20 ish), I was attending every home game and as many aways as I could get to. I don't ever recall Maggie being part of the BWFC crowd. Obviously her love for Bolton may have developed later on in her youth/early adulthood but I'm fairly sure it hadn't during the time we knew each other

Wasn’t it developed when she had to take younger family to the match?

Not a clue. We each went our separate ways and I have no idea what happened in her life after our early 20s.

So we are still left with ICIL having a large pot of money that it owes to BWFC and that KA wants to leave out of the deal? Any debt wouldn't disappear on takeover but the successful bidder might have difficulty collecting it at a later date if it isn't sorted out now.

When Ken eventually paid the wages last month it sounds likely to have come from this pot. It was never likely to have come out of Ken's personal funds was it?

Would I be right in thinking that this stuff has only emerged in the last week or so?

Basran group found it and have subsequently shared.

Howard - assuming this Bassini stuff fizzles out because he hasn't got the cash, what will the sequence of events be on April 2?

I don’t know exactly the mechanics of how it occurs, hopefully peacefully

We were in the same crowd from about 1982-1986,when  we all went in the same boozer in Bromley X.I used be in the same footy team with her brother Paul - very tidy player , ended up in the US teaching kids sorccer iirc, Must admit i don’t remember her mentioning BWFC back then, maybe her affliction came later.

Everything we know about our Ken says it won't be peaceful. I wouldnt be surprised to see a scorched earth exit strategy.

Not sure he has any options, he agreed to the terms of the loan, and he has been informed in the relevant time in regards to what happens if we aren't sold by end of business April 2nd, when he loses control of the sale

I hope and trust you're right. Any chink of light for malevolent behaviour - he'll be exploiting it

Not knowing the terms and conditions I cannot be wholely accurrate, however, the Bassini and other "buyers" feels like the last throw of the dice on his account. He has known the firm offer from "Howards" information for around 9/10 days, so he obviously has been trying for a better return, however, the only firm offer on the table is that one, so he will ultimately capitulate sometime Mon/Tues, or he loses control of the sale

Tempus fugit but these were the original creditor figures you posted:

16M secured

£12.9 unsecured (excluding players wages).

At that time I was certainly not aware of the money moved to  ICIL and the additional debts arising out of factoring. Would I be right in thinking that your group were also unaware?

John Galt later published some higher figures then quickly withdrew.

I'm not sure whether the figures he posted are still on the site but, just to be clear, what are the figures that the mystery bidder is being asked to pick up?

I'm afraid that I'd insist that Ken paid back to BWFC all monies paid to ICIL after deducting anything that ICIL had genuinely paid on behalf of the club.

Howard, until recently your team were the only people involved. Other bids were always a possibility. It is Anderson’s club to do with as he chooses.

The best bid for him may not be in the best interests of the club though; are there any fiduciary obligations he needs to perform and would it be possible to force him to do the “right” thing?

Do you think Anderson is in league with Bassini just to promote a bidding war?

The courts gave us an extension because your people proved they had the requisite funds behind them, have  the Bassini people done this yet?

Questions, questions, sorry mate! 🙂

I've been to Tenerife too (only the once) but I'm struggling to see how its relevant to the BWFC takeover unless its diversion therapy.

Come to think of it, it was about thirty years ago and  about the same time that I last drunk cinzano.

Wouldn't mind being in Tenerife, would take my mind off the shitty situation at BWFC

Mentalist thread now

Is Sluffy still doing a nightly recap?

Ok, what we've learned in the last few days -

Part I

- Nixon proclaims Bassini (previous with Watford) is the newest mystery bidder locked in talks with Anderson, and implies he's already passed/about to pass, the leagues FFP (fit and proper person test).  Bassini (note not Basran that I think some people might have got confused with initially?) was made bankrupt (for the second time) for less than £40k, just over 4 years ago  and was banned from anything to do with football for three years (now served).

- Ken CAN still sell the club BUT only before his share ownership debt is called in (or he pays it off) before by the 2nd April (this coming Tuesday).

- However this can only be achieved if that purchaser can pay off (or show funds available to do so) the Moonshift share debt, the winder and everybody who can add their names to it (substitution) -  whilst they have money outstanding to them - ie all the creditors estimated to be around £37m , and finally take the club financially forward for the next few seasons estimated to be around another £35m.

- Note though that up front Bassini (or anyone else) would need £10m to pay off the (personal to Ken) share loan and his £2m he wanted, plus deal with HMRC, Macron and anybody else wanting to substitute themselves on to the winder, by paying them off in full or agreeing terms with them to discount and/or delay settlement.

- An important point though is that if it came down to a stark choice of liquidation or a perceived bad owner, the EFL cannot plump for liquidation.

- Howards 'Dark Horse' are sticking with their bid price and will not raise it.

- Bassini gives interview to the Telegraph saying eminents of the football world Sir David Richards and John Williams are associated with his takeover.

- Shock disclosure that the ST (plus high net worth associates) are all but £30m short of the original asking price of £30m.

- Iles disappears yet again at the time the club faces a potential liquidation.

- Bonnar disappears for good perhaps for one too many late night liquid imbibition?

Part II

Howard v Custard (The Straightener)

- Opening rounds, H imperious whilst Custard takes stock of his opponent.

- H throws a couple of wild swings (though most of us miss them at the time - but Custard doesn't!).

- Custard begins to throw a few annoying jabs, H becomes irritable and retires to his corner whilst most of the crowd boo Custarrd and want the ref to stop the contest and eject him.

- H begins to open up more and now people begin to see why H had been swerving Custards irritating jabs and why Custard had been technically correct to be throwing them.

- Result BOTH WINNERS! - Hooray!

- H discloses that factoring of income as taken place with money due to the club (transfer fees, EFL payments) being paid to Inner Circle Investment (Ken's company that owns the club shares) (oh btw it's former name was Indiewolf Productions Ltd) and they in turn paying it into the club - which makes them a outstanding creditor to the club.  That this information was put to city investors for the sale of BL (Burnden Leisure) but apparently not disclosed to Team Basran until the last moment, who in turn has made it known to others.  This 'inter company obligation' is to be paid back over a period of time and is partially based on performance if Dark Horse buys the club although the city was told it would have been written off.

I think we can see now why H tried to avoid the issues that he probably was not at liberty to say at the time and similarly Custard's insistence that what was being said at the time was clearly not the full story.

Both did the right thing by themselves but by doing so led to the clash of the titans.

Both winners in my book.

Finally,

- Hoppy510 is an "absolute turd" - made me laugh that one!
