Take Over

The length of time the diligence takes might depend on where the money’s coming from - if it’s his own cash he can do as much or as little as he likes but if there’s debt then funders will want a proper job.

ken has massively simplified what was a basket case financially so you’d hope it’s straight forward

Seeing as we don’t know much about the new owner, the comfort for me is that anybody looking to make money out of Bolton Wanderers knows that the only way to do that is to get to the Premier League. You don’t make any money out of us any other way.

Any new owner knows that and must have a theory on how that is possible, otherwise you’re just throwing money into a loss making business.

I am always optimistic when it comes to the Whites (well maybe not for any of our matches for like ages)

On this occasion I am quietly optimistic, I am reminding myself that we knew absolutely fuck all about sweaty Ken and his unkempt currant bun Lee at the time they took over, and we know the same about the new lot. I would sum my condition up as “giddy as fuck, yet cautiously suppressed”

Would you debt fund this investment? I’d be surprised if they’ve managed to find a lender stupid enough to touch it. Maybe down the line if these lot can get us on the straight and narrow then they’ll look to get debt funding but I’d think it will be equity up front.

It will be fantastic just to be debt free, let’s hope they want to invest not rack up new debt.

Don’t think it’s a question how much they have I think it’s a question of how much they can borrow and cover.

Even if they’re worth £100m it doesn’t even touch the sides.

It’ll be impossible not rack debt up like every other club does.

I think if we build slowly and don’t try to run before we walk not sure we need to pump millions in per season, Warburton knows about running smallish club on a budget he did it successfully at Brentford and playing great football that has to be our business model.

BBC Sport understands the consortium is led by businessman Parminder Basran, alongside businesswoman Sharon Brittan and entrepreneur Jeff Thomas.

Who is Jeff Thomas, anybody know?

He's the Chairman of UKCloud. Sharon Brittan is a non-exec. director See the link I posted this morning

Warburton did well at Brentford

His players were sourced following the moneyball principle

Warburton didn't like that so left

Since then,he's done nowt

Maybe he’ll learn by his mistakes and go back to the money ball principle, whatever that is.

Surprised you have never heard it

Some yank baseball team recruited by stats, not opinions

Book later a film

Brentford are owned by a gambler and obviously he loves the stats based approach

He left because the system was going to be extended to team selection.

Warburton insisted that the manager must pick the team, a point on hich I fully concur.
