F1 is back

Looking forward to this season

Changes to the front wing supposed to mean more overtaking - lets see

Tyre compounds simplified

Just sat down to watch recording of qualifying. Be interesting to see if Hamilton still dominant but Red Bull the big curiosity for me this year. Will they move forward or slip back into the pack?

That's an even more impressive win then. The other fellas all had cars.

I think over time he's earned most of that luck. He earned his place in the best car by excelling in lesser ones. He gambled on Mercedes when they weren't the finished article. Today with pole he mayb

Not an F1 fan really, so apologies for the naive questions, but,

Once Hamilton and Max  were back behind each other, what difference did it make is some other cars hadn't gone past?? had no impact as far as I could see over the one lap.

Surely the bigger issue is not giving Hamilton his 13s lead back once the safety car came out, I take it that's not a thing?? So the leader must always be shafted following an accident??

Either Geri Halliwell is getting donkey punched into a oblivion or Toto is going to implode

It wouldve taken longer to let them all pass and may not have happened before the end of lap 57 meaning race over with hamilton winning

If all the cars had been allowed to overtake in essence then the last last wouldn’t have restarted and the race would have finished under safety car and positions don’t change.

in hindsight bottas should have stalled his car or merc pulled a switch and cut off his power so the safety car had to stay out.

The other cars wouldn't have got past before end of lap so race should have finished under safety car.

Losing your time gap under safety car is the rules. Crap rule to throw some uncertainty into sport

Yep.

Though, according to the rules, they should have completed another lap under the safety car after releasing the lapped cars, so it shouldn't have mattered how many went past. That's what the commentators were saying.

Overtaking the safety car appeal dismissed

Now for the main one

FIA have a lot to answer for here

They can’t do what they did. Simple

Max has it then according to the beeb.

Can see this going to court now.

Nah that’s the first one overtaking the SC

It’s going to court. They will cite some spurious reason why they could do what they did.

In which case, Bolton should go to court for Gerry Taggarts goal against Everton.

We could be European champions by now.

I know you're only joking but there is a president set for that as well.

Remember Flavio ordering Piquet Jnr to slam it into the wall to aid Alonso?

It’s already decided. The FIA have tweeted a link To their own race report in last few minutes citing verstappen as the winner. Which would seem odd

The gammons will be delighted by this result. Same ones who hate Amir Khan.

He is certainly on the banal gammon hitlist. Still never figured out why.....

Actually...... 😁

They’re seeing if the title was influenced by a race control error

Ridiculous. Only 5 cars allowed to unlap?

Just fuck off. Nothing to debate. Rules broken

There would have been a lot of new folk watching today. Not a good advert for its integrity

Which is interesting. Horner and Wheatley have already gone back to the stewards so what’s taking so long

Problem is its just like the ref fucking up in football

Clearly masi ballsed up, but thats no reason to punish verstappen

Unfortunately

But, merc could sue the arse off em, so who knows

Just watching it back, the fact about the 4 ( 5?) cars that were let through is that Max is just by being behind them about 20 car lengths behind Lewis so instead of being alongside he is a long way back.

It really is farcical.

I’m a Lewis fan but if it was the other way round I’d be saying it needs overturning
