F1 is back

Looking forward to this season

Changes to the front wing supposed to mean more overtaking - lets see

Tyre compounds simplified

Just sat down to watch recording of qualifying. Be interesting to see if Hamilton still dominant but Red Bull the big curiosity for me this year. Will they move forward or slip back into the pack?

That's an even more impressive win then. The other fellas all had cars.

I think over time he's earned most of that luck. He earned his place in the best car by excelling in lesser ones. He gambled on Mercedes when they weren't the finished article. Today with pole he mayb

Can someone explain to me the farce that just occurred? And in what world is it supposed to be fair or make sense.

I'll never say a bad word about darts and flat dick football again after this dog muck.

That’s outrageous but ultimately that ends up a strategy mistake. Soon as he pitted they should have which would have left him in front I think? But if that’s the case I don’t understand why they didn’t

I agree. During the virtual earlier, when Max came in, surely Lewis could have been brought in next lap and still be ahead? The 40% speed reduction you would expect would more than compensate for any "undercut" boost red bull achieved.

Still, that was a weird situation at the end though.

Some pissed up blokes spinning a wheel to decide how to manage a formula one race I reckon.

Partial application of rules meant that the best car/driver out there was hung out to dry.

Managed the race beautifully, even staying out in the knowledge that red bull couldn't catch them on newer tyres.

And then some cunt slams his car into a barrier...

Going to be interesting if they try to explain why only five cars were to told to unlap themselves. Follow the rules one way or another.

Which then led to the field being concertinaed thereby eradicating the lead  and then apparently the rules not being followed regarding all the vehicles being able to overtake or something.

Clear as mud to me.

OK. I've had time to calm down and consider it now.

My view is still that Horner is a weapons grade bell end.

Mercedes appealing the result on the grounds that we're discussing.

Can't see it making a difference, but even if they did, the damage has been done.

For me the result should stand. However Massi needs fucking off and the drivers need the bastard rules ramming down their throat before every race. Fuck about and you are docked points, non of this 10 second penalty bollocks.

Get in Max

Yes, they are sportsman. Anyone can drive a car round a track. No practice or talent required

So you’re saying Adrian Lewis, who sweats just throwing a 20gram dart,  is more of a sportsman than Lando Norris who is actually an athlete?

Are you saying that in real life?

Your scouse delusions are front and centre again.

Two protests lodged now.

Max been summoned to the stewards.

Dunno what's going on.

Rules applied wrong twice it seems , the rules say all cars and then the safety car comes in at end of next lap, so it came in early.

Mercedes have been fucked over.

Mercedes have been fucked over.

They have.

We were commenting before about whether Mercedes should have pitted Hamilton, however they were making a decision on the situation at the time and in the knowledge of what the rules are.

For the FIA to change the rules at the last lap is bonkers.

In wanting to provide for a race, they've buggered one up- should have stuck to the rules, and if it's a bit of a low key finish, so be it.

Its an absolute disgrace. All rules out of the window so they could have a shoot out.

Thats not to mention yon fella driving in to a wall for no reason after red bull said the word miracle about 12 times in a row.

Bent as fuck, merc and LH shafted.

Its like somone shouting next goal wins in a game of footy.

Williams are basically the merc feeder team so it’s not that. Latifi is just a shit driver and shouldn’t be anywhere near an F1 competition.

I’d say it’s more likely the Netflix producers were in Massi’s ear demanding a one lap shootout. Seriously. Deep pockets at Netflix…

When one team is already 10-0 up

A barister has been taken into the discussions now.

Court of arbitration for sport any one?

Or joint winners forthcoming?

And just before that goal is scored, the team in the lead had a man through on goal only for the keeper to twat him in the face and ignore the ball, which results in a free kick to the keeper, with the attacker sent off for headbutting his fist.

they wont overturn it

makes them look like bigger fools than they already are

I tend to agree, but upon reflection, there may well be a legal case for Mercedes.

The racing incidents that have been under scrutiny all season are as much about interpretation, which has pissed off both teams at times.

This particular event is a rule change - a technical procedure-that teams cannot foresee, when they've been managing their efforts in expectance of normal procedures being followed.

Don't think Mercedes will let this go easily.

If they follow the rules to the letter when assessing this here then they’ve been broken that’s clear. How they resolve it I don’t know.

If max has overtaken under the SC we’re in for a long night folks

Quite.

Made a rod for their own backs here, of course red bull were a bit aggrieved when they were going round behind the safety car, but the rules were there and if they had let all the back markers go, it should have meant no racing on the last lap. Red bull would have grumped but would have accepted it.

Instead Horner got into then (can't blame him) and they cocked up.

Now a much bigger problem for them.

As much as it would seem wrong, I can see an offer of joint winners being made. As they're making up rules now, then why not!

Result will stand

Overtaking under the safety car is open to interpretation as they’re driving slowly and constantly pressing their brakes etc…

And he probably only went ahead by about 2 cm

Netflix cameras will be all over this though, it’s perfect for them. “You couldn’t write a script like this”. Hmmmmm

Another point, but one that in a way is minor compared to the top brass fucking about with the rules.
