Mentioned before my missus is working for Scotch Track and Trace.  From having virtually nothing to do a few weeks ago to now being on calls constantly.  They are now being offered overtime for the first time to keep up with demand.  Let's hope this is as bad as it gets.

A mates Mrs who works in the NHS had her first dose of Pfizer yesterday, but doesn't get her next one till April 4th, which seems a while

She was also being primed to administer it last week but that’s gone quiet now

Hope that doesn't suggest things aren't going to plan

I know a retired paramedic who was contacted by 2 GP's and not heard back since.

My mum has done some on helicopter, air ambulance staff but not been required since.

Lets hope we have enough of each to hit the 13.2m

aye

though if it's 12 weeks till second dose, we won't be coming out of lockdown any time soon - if you need everyone to have had both, but, the main thing is that everyone gets one asap

true, hopefully we can lift up from the current run rate from 1M per week to 2M per week pretty quickly, or we'll be getting nowhere near the 13M by 15th February. I've suspected form the start that we'll not hit that target, and the main reason being that we probably won't be getting enough vaccines through.

You would hope that now these "super centres" are in place, that we're pretty much ready to go with vaccinating as many folk as our vaccine supplies/stocks will let us

I think we are in an experiment, in more ways than one;

1. The scientists don’t really know if those with a vaccine can transmit

2. If hospitalisations and deaths plummet, as they might; how to reopen? Reopening is always more difficult than shutting things down.

3. There was a 3rd, but I can’t remember

I know, and it'll get worse later today, when Sturgeon announces further restrictions in Scotchland......which means Boris will copy her and do the same tomorrow. It's a proper mental health time bomb all of this

provided we have sufficient vaccines of course, and that's out of the Governments control (although they don't seem to think there is a supply issue, so hopefully you're right)

I think changes up here will be minor as it’s pretty harsh already and she’s already set the scene for them. Closing down clock and collect for shops like next etc should hopefully be one.

construction may well get stopped as well as having someone round to paint the hall etc.

biggest thing I notice this time round compared to last March is loads more cars on the road.

non food click and collect, that should of course be stopped. Who really needs to order a pair of socks on line from Next and then go and collect them - ridiculous

Construction and "handy man" work being stopped would be a massive call.................especially as I'm having some work done in one of my out houses at the minute 🙂

Maybe different if work has commenced? But then that offers a loophole doesn’t it for others. We will find out soon enough.

We have no intention of everybody having both in order to get out of lockdown

if there's any window of threat between first and second dose, me and my closest will be having our own personal lockdowns

Sounds like there are enough people to put needles in arms, but possibly not enough product yet.

I think.

Can't blame the government for that. And I love blaming the government, me, I do.

Need the pharma producers to upscale as best they can.

Presumably we have a plan to get to the 13.9 (???) target. So we know how many staff and how much vaccine we need.
The Govt have been clear the target is vaccines offered so unless we know the number not turning up. The number injected is not relevant to the target. Although it is overall most important.

If hancock sticks 3 million in his car boot, will we count them?

Hmmm, they're not now promising to administer 13.2m jabs in this time-frame, it's now "we will have offered 13.2m jabs".

A bit like that day they posted out thousands of test kits on the last day of promising a target. Sending someone a letter with a date for a jab in the future is not vaccinating.

of course theres a threat

like theres a threat you will get run over by a bus

a degree of protection comes after the first jab, then you get the second one 3 months later

3 weeks after that, its as good as youre going to get

but you can still catch it

as a 45 year old, reasonably fit bloke, its very unlikely youre dieing if you catch covid

with the vaccine, first dose, second dose, full strength, the chances are greatly reduced

then its up to you if you think the risk of covid outweighs having some sort of normality

me, im playing out once they tell me i can

They keep guaranteeing it will be done, so you would hope they know that we'll have sufficient vaccines in time  - I'm still struggling to see how we'll get there by mid-Feb, but then I'm not privvy to all the detail. They seem confident enough though, so all we can do is go with that.

anyway, re: threat - there's a reason for having two doses, so I would rather wait for the maximum possible protection

I'm sure I won't die of it, but having read about what it's like for some when you have it, I'd rather go without - and having read what some say about still feeling the effects months after, again, I'll avoid it if I can

the only things I want to do are have a beer, see the match and chat shit with my mates / folks and I can do that all that at home anyway - my next social event will be having all the family round when we've all had our second dose

I'll go to the gyms if they re-open because the weather is shit this time of weather, that said, got my eye on Boundary Park (17 miles away) and what's left of Moss Rose (15 miles)

the biggest challenge here on in is figuring out how to avoid the booze every night
