Maybe, but just a simple explanation for the fuck nuts like me who lack scientific brain cells 🤯

Not just viruses. Natural part of evolution; its how plants and animals improve and adapt to their environment.

You do know that krankie usually gives her lockdown advice a couple of hours after sitting in on a cobr briefing where she is told what restrictions etc are going to be placed in england?
So in essence she is just playing to the crowd in that respect and because she does her briefings at lunchtime she simply gets it in first?

Alright then, let's ignore wee Jimmy. Let's just ask Marcus what to do.

🤣 I genuinely believed everyone knew that’s what was happening and how she always magically seemed to pre-empt what Boris was going to announce.

So we gonna do same as the sweaties?

We usually do, I'm not sure it'll be much different this time

It makes sense if you ask me as well. Just a small tightening but could make a difference and just gives folk less reasons to be out and about.

She got into hot water previously for revealing details of cobra meetings iirc.

They're isolating most of the time!

Point taken about the treatment scenario, but, that witch that murderered little Emily- not sure that would wash morally.

Prisons are a breeding ground for infectious diseases. If get them vaccinated quickly if I was in charge. But I'm not! :)

Prisons have coped remarkably well and there hasn't been any really serious outbreaks, I just pity the officers having to cope with the lockdown, the mither will be horrendous

To be honest, you're not a tory spin machine, so I too apologise

We've potentially got another variant in Brazil and we are still letting flights in

Its reckless

New strain rumoured from such a country.

Ok, stop flights from there, until it’s confirmed.

Simple really.

I've no doubt it will be, but I'm sure SAGE would be on the ball 🙄

Personally all flights should be banned.

If the world had done that last December, who knows.

Its a valid proposal, but we have to accept the consequences if we go down that route.

The likes of Traff will be properly fucked.

Fair point, but we are talking a month or so.

Close the borders now, ban all international travel until internal restrictions are lifted.

Won't affect mine/the travel business any more to be honest. Nobody'd booking anything for this side of May anyway. Jet 2 have scrapped everything until 3rd week of March already.

I doubt the virus is being spread much in take aways or at the counter in next.

As long as construction sites, nurseries and schools for key workers are open they wont stop the spread.

Was on a site pre Xmas, on the way out it the time was 15:55, there were about 15-20 scaffolders all grouped together waiting for 16:00 to knock off. It was mental. There were two positive cases reported the following week.

Our kids are in school, its busier than it was last year.

Went to do our weekly big shop in Aldi last night. Arrived at the same time as a group of 4 men who all got out of a pickup truck advertising a building firm. They headed into the store without masks and without sanitising. No effort to stay away from each other or anyone else the whole time they were there. Went to the till together and pretty much stood cuddling whilst one of them paid. I really wish I had said something.

Easy when there is 4 of them as well. Always one trying to impress the others.

Gonzo?

Watching an epidemiologist on sky last night, saying that the variants are a concern because the virus has learned how to make younger people poorly more often.

Just because it’s mutated in Brazil, doesn’t mean it won’t mutate here again and it’s why we really need to get case numbers right down. Our numbers now are prime for mutations.

America is fucked. But we knew that.

It's a clever virus that's for sure, and there are already dozens of different variants - just wait to see what happens if/when it mutates that it can make children/toddlers poorly........and wait to see what happens if it makes the leap into domestic pets like cats and dogs, there would have to be a massive pet cull potentially

As mentioned before, the last thing the virus want's to do is actually kill it's host, it just wants to make it ill - as it's been happily killing the oldies, it needs to change/adapt and that's possibly why it's moving on to younger people.
