Been a structural engineer for 22 years, and now getting a bit bored with it. Find it very stressful too. Used to do my own drawings so thought why not retrain in Revit which is 3D, very powerful software and a new challenge. So self funded a Revit course. Salary wise it's crazy what they earn considering no design responsibility.

When I moved here, all recruitment agents wouldn't even bother returning my calls. No experience, no chance.

Recruiters are all cunts

The worst that could happen is some fucker (Geldof type) organizing a concert in aid of the NHS after all this is over, now that is pretentious, artist like Sam Smith, Ariana Grandi et al, snowflake singers for a snowflake audience... no thanks, imo its fucking pretentious and embarrassing.

The good thing about living in this country is that you wouldn't be forced to watch it or listen to it

Joking aside, get a job based as much as possible outside.

You'll not want to go back inside.

Till winter.

Haha you've just brought back some very bad memories - I had the misfortune of going to see a few, about 15 years ago, some of them were ok, but most were cocks, like the cheesiest crappy inexperienced car salesmen ever, most of them pestered me for months after.

I was employed in telecoms,  but wanted to move to a smaller telecoms company and specialise in a technical area, I'd had 10yrs experience  - tried to palm me off with a jobs in everything but telecoms, one job they wanted to put me forward for interview for was, I kid you not,  sceptic tank cleaning and removal (maybe a decent job but pretty fucking far from telecoms)

When the 20yr old consultant was trying to pitch it to me,  I started to roll my eyes and shake my head and laugh, so she had a go at me saying my interview technique was poor

I've got a 12yr old son,  Centre back or CDM for BWFC academy at the moment, I'm struggling to find any decent defensive drills that he can do, got any tips? - hes got an older brother and me, he's miles better than us so we aren't much of a challenge for him.

Yeah I can get you some

I might even have a file that you can have.
I’ll drop you a PM pal.

Is Gavin McCann still the youth coach at the academy?

cheers mate - never seen him there, my lads been there for 7 years -  as you can probably imagine lots of coaches have left in the last few years - Neil Pointon has been there for ages, he's very good, tough but fair and funny. A few have left to go working in Dubai, some to Man city. It has been better since Keith Hill came on board, more technical stuff.

just looked him up - hes u23 coach apparently - still never seen him though, the U23s usually train towards the back of the academy, the younger lads are usually on the astro or in the dome a the front.

Just shown my lad a picture of him - said have you ever seen him - he said, yeah near the toilets hahah

I had an ace one once. She insisted on doing a mock interview. I’m like, nah, I’ll be fine, but she wouldn’t have it.

Then proceeded to ask me ridiculous questions. Like ‘if you were animal what animal would you be?’

Then I got a mate a job there, got a bit of a bonus, she got wind of it, rang me at work to give me a right bollocking.

She was a loon. Still, got me the job I suppose.

Ciaran O’Brien and Paul Drinkwater both came from BWFC to City one left because he didn’t want to coach women, and one left to join Parky at Sunderland.
Loads of coaches end up going to Dubai, the money is good and it’s living in Dubai but the cost of living and working 6 days a week is what they don’t tell you about.
