As mad as it might sound I'd see schools as being the last things to reopen because from a practical point of view I can't see how it could be done safely.

Obviously it's not a representative sample but there isn't one person where I work who couldn't come in because the the schools were closed and so they aren't sat at home because of that.

If had a company I would be looking to see if you could work with split shifts , (only half your workforce in at any one time) or seeing there is 24 hours in a day what about 3 x 8 hours shifts, even more social distancing at work) would also help with child care with hopefully one parent home at a time, its not ideal but if your company could make it work then you could start to get people back at work and keep them safe

I've just had an email from BA, telling me that my flight to Mexico is still OK for May 28th...........although further investigation shows the hotel is shut until 1st June (at the earliest)  -  so fuck knows what's going on there 😀

It'll obviously all be cancelled, but I've got to pay the balance of just over £4K next week apparently, and as the holiday is still showing as live, I guess I have to pay it, and then reclaim the money when they cancel it in 3 or 4 weeks time

Just found out my Lufthansa flight with our lad, his wife and our two grandkids is cancelled. I knew it would be. Still waiting for TUI to admit the hotel will be cancelled. At the moment they are just trying to get you to book at another time. It’s not that easy though because we have no idea when we can all get the time off again at the same time. I will wait for them to officially cancel and wait for the refund. Already had three return Lufthansa flights cancelled now. Not received a penny back so far.

It's a good idea and something I have been toying with

I could make that work

I could probably even get most of the materials I need

But my customers are closed

Sad news RIP

How many jobs especially in City centre office complexes do people actually need to be in work to get the job done?

Consumer facing and manufacturing obviously need to be in work but data input, call centers etc can surely be done remotely.

This kind of stuff is what businesses should be looking at. Both from a Corona point of view and a potential reduction in commuting.

Aye

If any good comes from this it will be a big increase in home working for many

Ive done it for ten years, couldn’t bare an office job now commuting 5 days a week, fuck that

The benefits of it would be massive for the country, it would take so much pressure off transport / infrastructure whilst allowing people to live further away from work improving many areas of the country

Just caught up with bits of todays daily briefing, Raab came across well for me, put Kunttsberg in her place with an answer to one of her questions regarding an exit plan.

Hoping this will be the last lockdown, can see us all getting back to normal on a gradual basis.

Just in time for summer 🌞

To be fair he said in his first bit ‘we can not put a date on this’. Silly cow then asked twice.

The company I work for here in Houston are now saying that's the way the now want to go, a lot will really depend on what the client says.

I still think you would have to go into the office at least once a week, just for progress reviews and things of that nature

Maybe that advice should have been published to us plebs?

I saw two old folk sat on opposite benches outside the library today having a chat. They probably went out for a walk and stopped for a breather and struck up conversation for a bit, they were a good 4m apart. Strictly speaking that isn't following those guidelines but any harm done really? Plus I bet they felt better for it.

She's completely pointless.

Should stick to Tweeting drivel

Let’s be honest most of the questions asked from day one are fucking pointless, like it when they press for answers about testing but that it

The official police guidelines  is attached to this link. Too big to upload, have a read.

Thanks, had seen it, I think the ambiguous bit is how far you can drive for exercise.

In my opinion within your own town is reasonable, bur others may vary and that includes individual police officers too.

I reckon we'll see a shift in working hours per week as people decide they want to spend their life doing something more enjoyable instead

But i reckon, in time, we'll reduce to an average office stint as 30 hours per week
