Aye

If any good comes from this it will be a big increase in home working for many

Ive done it for ten years, couldn’t bare an office job now commuting 5 days a week, fuck that

The benefits of it would be massive for the country, it would take so much pressure off transport / infrastructure whilst allowing people to live further away from work improving many areas of the country

I reckon we'll see a shift in working hours per week as people decide they want to spend their life doing something more enjoyable instead

But i reckon, in time, we'll reduce to an average office stint as 30 hours per week

That Dermot Murnaghan is a bit of a smug cunt, we need Trever McDoughnut, Anna Ford, Moira Stewart or Reginald Bosanquet back..... fuck me i would even have Tony H Wilson back from the dead, at least he had charisma.....darling.

They just read the news and that was it, they where always impartial, not like todays cunts who always seem to want to trip people up, argue and just be downright twats.

It's easier just to shout and try to trip people up than it is to think of a thought provoking and salient question.

Twats like Piers Morgan are the worst types of 'journalist'

All good and well, but countries actions are not proportional.

How many tourists came back to the UK from corona hotspots, compared to Ireland,

How many people move around the country (72 million trips abroad a year in the UK, compared to 2.7 million for Ireland..)

What is the population density of the major cities, Dublin would be the 4th Largest city in comparison, more people living close spreads the virus quicker

What percentage of the population have underlying health issues or are older (average age in UK is 40, Ireland 36)

How much commuting takes place over in Ireland with the UK having so many cities which people regular move between.

granted we shut down after them, but at the same time if 10% are ignoring that lockdown, 10% of 66 million is a hellofalot more than 10% of 5 million. That 6.1 million makes a world of difference..

Personally think that the Government have done a good job, this is far from over, China are being very secretive about what is going on, and they are terrified of 2nd outbreak... If they were so confident, why are the people in Wuhan still wearing masks??

Maybe in the long term, herd immunity is the right option, and managing our hospital intake.

End of the day, no two countries are exactly the same and it's impossible to compare between them

Article here addressing some of those points, posted for interest, not as any argument against anything your saying to be honest.

aye, now is the time to realize you need to enjoy life, and work, and get the balance right, it's not always possible, but if you can, it's ace, I know, i managed it for a week in 2007

when i had a week off work disguised as a sicky, so still got paid

seriously though, now is the time for profound thinking

I had a job only a few years ago that I worked up the ranks to and was my dream job when I started but I grew to hate it. I jacked it in took a year out went traveling and came back and decided to do something different. Took a massive pay drop of about 50% but Best thing I ever did and I love my job now. Stressful at times but I love it.

if I had carried on In my old role I would have been able to retire comfortably in my late 50’s. But I would’ve ended up in a box or a nut house I think well before that. And I realise now it made me a bit very nice person as I was unhappy.
Life is too short and I think a lot of people will now realise this

use the time off wisely as advised mate and make sure you make the right choice

Definitely the right time, something I’ve been thinking for years but never been in the financial position to take a gamble

going to put my morning walks to use and get my thinking head on

I used to have Senior Manager role at a Bank. Had worked my up from a temp. Got made redundant. Went to a redeployment company which profiled me against my perfect job. They also compared me to the last job I had.
I was in totally the wrong job. Took a big cut and did something I found more enjoyable/worthwhile at a Housing Association.
Gradually drifted back into financial services because of the money but only doing roles I wanted rather than chasing next level.
Recently have a planned long term break from work will only go back if there is something ‘worthwhile’ that I want to do.

I said this myself just the other day, there might be a lot of it about and let's hope some manage it.

Wuhans death figures gone up 50%

WHO - “Right China, we’re getting some shit about your Death Toll numbers”

China “How come?”

WHO “The virus came from China, you have a population of 1.4 billion, and only 3000 have died, when in New York 7000 miles away 12,000 people have died , and you’re still eating bats and pangolin... Are you eating Bat right now?”

China “hmm hmm.”

WHO “Just maybe leave off the bat for a few months”

China “Ok”

WHO “ Right so give us some real numbers”

China “50”

WHO “50,000?”

China “50%”

WHO “For fucks sake China”
