Youri McAnespie Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 8x500ml Bavaria Lager Cans at Morrison's for £5 (£4.50 with NHS Discount, Traf will be delighted to hear it's been extended again, 'til Christmas). Anyhow I had two of those ice cold in a pint pot, 'topped' with lemonade, and a Bailey's coffee last night (double 'hello sailor') so I'm as fresh as a daisy. I was hungover 'til Tuesday last week, if I hadn't puked my ring up (bad pint) on the way home I'd probably still be suffering... I just can't hack 11+ drinks in a three/four-ish hour window at my age anymore. It's slow and steady from now on in.  Quote

Why wouldn't I be? Quote

Youri McAnespie Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 (edited) @Traf I knew you'd be overjoyed. Some mean-spirited firms limit discounts to groceries only. Good old Morrison's only exclude; tobacco, top-ups, lottery/scratchcards and fuel. So get stocking up on the Booze you heroes of the NHS... They deserve the reward... You can volunteer for as little as four hours a week and you'll get an NHS I.D. to flash at the tills. I'll get the telephone number if y'like? Edited September 26, 2021 by Youri McAnespie Quote

I'd want more than 20 off, but ta xxx I should also reiterate that I do think certain sectors of the NHS have performed heroics the last 2 years, but (a) they've been paid for it and (b) many of the workshop cunts haven't. I know it sounds cuntish or at the very least churlish, but I just don't think anyone should be singled out this way. I said this on here ages ago that my sister in law was embarrassed about it all. She's a nurse, she wasn't furloughed, she was able to have as much overtime (at time and a half) as she wanted and she's never made as much as much money for "simply doing my job" (her words, not mine). She was frontline too, not a doctors surgery receptionist, NHS filing clerk etc etc.  As previously discussed, there are folk on Universal Credit now worse off, having to use food banks etc, but they go to Morrisons they pay more than a full time worker for groceries? Tell me that's not wrong. You'd be daft not to use it... If she's frontline she probably puts in more than 10% of time 'off the clock', so why be embarrassed about a tiny perk like Morrison's offer. I expect it's won them lots of new customers too... Quote

Youri McAnespie Posted September 26, 2021 Posted September 26, 2021 (edited) I had them like a twist on the Partridge 'Ladyboy'... I did have the Bailey's coffee in a matching (to the pint pot) tumbler glass. Do it in a mug and it just usually ends up being slightly tepid neat Bailey's. I think, like the shops already having Christmas Selection Boxes and decorations on the shelves, and GREAT!Tv already airing a channel of Christmas films, I've jumped the gun with the Bailey's Coffee. It's still September FFS. My big (inaccessible to anyone but Spiderman) window upstairs has been and still is, half open, since May... I'll probably be on pints of Bailey's 'Top' (with milk in lieu of Lemonade) by Christmas morning. Edited September 26, 2021 by Youri McAnespie Quote
