April 13, 20206 yr It’s my brown bin that I’m bothered about 2 cancelled collections I pay for busy bins so if no room for cans & bottles just lob them in black

April 13, 20206 yr So they've cut back on collections, covered up the bins on the streets and shut the tips But won't pick up bags left with the bins

Like ocd levels. But it is good as you can just ring up request extra recycling tubs and they drop them off so we’ve two of each so never have an issue with them they even have giant bins for larger families. Probably 50% bigger than standard. Not sure if they cost or not but a good idea

April 13, 20206 yr Coming to summat isn’t it when we are having discussions about recycling bins. This coronavirus has a lot to answer for.

April 13, 20206 yr We have blue for glass, tins, plastic etc & grey for paper & card etc to be collected tomorrow & fortnightly Then green for rubbish & brown for garden waste, collected next Tuesday & fortnightly, but we have to pay £40 a year for the brown bin collections and they're only for 6 months a year.

(Might get a last one of you're due soon). A customer of mine up greenmount got an email reply to her enquiry stating just this! Just seen your subsequent post! We effectively live in the next street and we didn't get ours emptied. I checked the web site, and it doesn't yet specify any actual change, and says put them out as normal, and if they can empty it, they will.

April 14, 20206 yr Had my first day/night off the drink yesterday. Felt strange not to be sat in the sun with a glass of something. And then chilling in the lounge later without a glass of red. Aiming to do it again today. Reckon we’ve drank 7-10 days non-stop recently.
April 14, 20206 yr Green for garden & food waste. They’ve cancelled these for the foreseeable future but did one last collection last week. Everyone was out trimming their bushes. Even my Mrs!! The new instruction is to place food waste with our general waste - but I’m too conditioned now to be able to do it. Black bin for glass, some plastic, foil, etc. Blue is cardboard and paper. Grey (our smallest bin of all) is general waste. Regarding the tips - pain in the arse. Reckon more so than ever they should be open. Every man and his dog is pottering around and clearing off the guff they’ve stored for many years! Edited April 14, 20206 yr by Smiley
April 14, 20206 yr i had to dive into case of amstel as my shindigger brewery delivery was delayed panoma has been restokced, so i might stick an order in with them today in regrads to bins, all ours are as normal, (wigan council)
April 14, 20206 yr I didn't know there was so much regional variance on bin colours black: standard Green: garden and food waste Blue: cardboard Brown: bottles Currently, no green collections so that all goes in black, and blue and brown every four weeks Which is not enough for the amount we're drinking
April 14, 20206 yr Bury's green going in the brown has always seemed confusing. Been known to inadvertently tip grass onto my brother's cardboard before now.
