April 15, 20206 yr I’ve been doing the shopping over the last 3 weeks to alleviate the boredom, been to Tesco, Morrison’s, ALDI and normally we shop at Sainsbury’s, my preference is for ALDI, very efficient queues move quickly, sanitizer available outside and disinfectant available are the entrance and the selection of products has improved greatly since I last shopped there. Boring post of the day. 😂

A fireman friend wrote an interesting post on Facebook telling people to stop buying him and other firemen coffee and offers of food. He points out that there are members of society in much greater need than all of the emergency services who are, after all, still on a full wage.

I served all the big supermarkets for 20 years so I know how they work - they're selfish fcukers. BUT they've been the first ones to make the gesture. Hopefully, others will follow. Maybe an offer of free delivery for NHS staff grub as they are putting in big shifts etc. Might be more welcome that queueing up for a while to get discounted shopping. Anyway, every little helps.
April 16, 20206 yr I'm going to stick my neck out and update Undies optimum time advice for Tesco Middlebrook to 4pm, once you accept that some folk can't understand the one way system it's actually a miles easier shop these days with less folk in. Obviously I'd rather have a full supermarket and not a global pandemic and 1000s of deaths but you have to look for little positives to keep you going.
April 16, 20206 yr Went to Aldi Howfen this morning. Folk were still queuing to get in. One in, one out. But once inside there was very few in there. It was a far more pleasanter shopping experience than previous visits. No dickheads going within a metre of each other, most managing the 2 metre rule.

April 16, 20206 yr What does fuck me off is parents in with kids - Morrisons today some lass was wandering round with a lad of about 10 year old who was meandering all over the place and a surly looking teen girl who was just following her about looking at her phone. Why? What don't they understand about limiting folk? Unless there was no way for anyone to be looking after them while she did a big shop...but even then it didn't look like she was loading up a week's worth of stuff or owt. More like a family day out. Last week at Sainsburys I was in the queue and a couple in front were stopped going in and from what I could see/hear only one was allowed in. Makes sense.
