Site Supporter desperado Posted September 27, 2020 Site Supporter Posted September 27, 2020 It’s a big month. 8 games in total. 7 league, 1 EFL trophy. Including 3 Tuesday Games. What do you think is the minimum acceptable number of points we could get in order to keep ambitious and optimistic about our season. I think 2 or 3 wins with a scattering of draws would get us back on track and is hopefully achievable despite our poor start. Harrogate (a)- Loss (This generations Scarborough etc etc) Shrewsbury (a) EFL TROPHY - Win Grimsby (h) - Draw Oldham (h) - Win Barrow (a) - Draw Cambridge (a)- Draw Bradford (h) - Loss Orient (a) - Win Quote

Moderators Casino Posted September 27, 2020 Moderators Posted September 27, 2020 Id take 6 but not 3 Quote
Marc505 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Even Sammy Lee managed a freak win comprising of attacking, dominant football amongst all the other dross. Oldham at home can be that. Scrape together a couple of other draws. 5. Quote
Mantra Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 7 league games, 7 points minimum for me but I think we'll do better than that. Harrogate (a)- Win Shrewsbury (a) EFL TROPHY - Lose Grimsby (h) - Draw Oldham (h) - Draw Barrow (a) - Lose Cambridge (a)- Lose Bradford (h) - Win Orient (a) - Draw Quote

Sweep Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 You'd hope that EFL game is just kids and office staff playing, we really shouldn't be giving that game any credence at all Quote
LeggyMountbatten Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Will we even play Grimsby? They are all in quarantine and their chairman is on about stopping the season. Quote
marple whites Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Need to be getting 10 plus from the 7 league games, balls to the cup game. Quote
Traf Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Ignore what's already gone. We need 12 from the next 7. Quote
Roger_Dubuis Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 I predict 7 points. Will beat Grimsby and Oldham at home, draw at Barrow and lose the other 5 Quote
Site Supporter desperado Posted October 10, 2020 Author Site Supporter Posted October 10, 2020 A point keeps us on track 😉 Quote

Based off today's first half performance I'd like to think we'd win one of Oldham, Barrow or Cambridge. Based off the second half performance though, maybe I'll stick with what I said.😅 If we don't beat Oldham or Barrow then that will be worrying after we'd just picked ourselves up with a win and they're nothing special, not got a league win between them! Cambridge on the other hand sitting in 2nd place with 10pts from 5, that will be a tough game. Need to keep the "momentum" going, or what's left of it after today's demoralising result. I'm still staying in the camp of today being not great but not disastrous if it's in the context of different parts of the team improving, and if the defence is tightening up then that's a great place to start. But these next couple of games will go a long way to showing what our expectations should really be this season. Matches coming thick and fast from next weekend onwards. Quote
