Am I the only one on here prepared to maintain standards?

Sigh.

She’s just indicated a preference for a hole full of gravy and not a SINGLE ONE OF YOU has commented?

Nah, sending tenners up her flue was more impressive.

If there's any pastie better than a Carrs cheese and jalapeño I won't believe you. King of pasties they are.

Had 2 meat and potato pasties from Hunters Bakery for first time yesterday.  Very nice.

Thin pastry like Ye Old Pastie Shop but much better filling.  More meat and a savoury taste.  Cheaper than Greenhalgh's as well (not hard).

Best thing about Greenhalghs is the soup. Chicken and chilli proper warms you up 👍 shame I can't get it anymore as work has banned us getting any dinner in our uniforms as the public won't like it 🙄🙄

I truly believe we must be the most blessed town in the country for pies/pasties. I love them all. I have friends/relatives away from Bolton who wouldn’t look anywhere else for the best pie/pasty

Their pea and ham I would eat regurgitated out of a seagull

Armstrong's pasties have gone shit, too big and stodgy, their meat pies are the best ever though.

Keep meaning to try Hunter's, pass it every day.

Fairly sure that Hunters was Mollie Bentham’s when I was a kid. My mum weaned me on their pasties and flour cakes. If they use the same pasty recipe as Mollie’s did I’ll never visit Carr’s again

The culinary pastry delight i ever enjoyed was working in a blizzard at Farnworth. The job was rendering a gable wall on a shop called Wet Pets, it was cold and snow was making a show, a few doors up the terraced row was an independant pie shop and the waft of the delicious smell on a dreadful day was making me and my mate hungry. I got the nod to go and get a couple of meat and potato pies. Coming from the pie belt of Wiggin Borough, i've never tasted a more nicer pie in my life, full of chunky potato's , meat cooked to perfection, and loads of thick cut onions. We ended up having three each they were so good.

Used to be an ace pie shop in Radcliffe. Going out of town centre underneath Bridge for metrolink and it was on the right. Lovely pies and pasties and was like stepping back in time going in there. Helped me through many a Friday morning hangover when I was an apprentice. Can't remember what it was called (stones is in my head for some reason) and don't know if it's still there. Maybe Radcliffe White will know.
