Best thing about Greenhalghs is the soup. Chicken and chilli proper warms you up 👍 shame I can't get it anymore as work has banned us getting any dinner in our uniforms as the public won't like it 🙄🙄

Jesus. Are you supposed to go hungry?

Feck em.

Yeah 😂 wouldn't mind but with the PPE I wear and the amount of times I wash my hands a day I'm cleaner than 99% of others in Breightmet 😂

Always thought it worth driving the extra mile to Armstrong's rather than Carr's and alike. One of the few things I miss about Bolton.

Opposite Morris Dancers? Top pasties, even topper Cheese n Jalapeno (can't find the correct n) pies.

Yeah, had a email to say that's not allowed either now and If we go home for dinner we need to shower, wash hair, new uniform before we go back 😂😂

I’d be getting a new job. Sounds like a concentration camp

Dutsons bakery used to be better than all of them , but has closed now and changed into the latest fad of a desert shop.
carrs at parties are a nightmare for heartburn
Flour cake is the correct term, but alas barm has taken over. First time I heard barm as a kid was in Manchester in a cafe with my dad,  didn’t know what they were about , now kids in Bolton probably don’t know what a flour cake is .
better than calling them tea cakes like they do in Burnley though

That's ridiculous, just tell 'em you have.

Armstrong's pasties have gone shit, too big and stodgy, their meat pies are the best ever though.

Keep meaning to try Hunter's, pass it every day.

Was first introduced to it when working for the local authority. Cracking fayre, you'll not regret it.

Yes. Also good.

Have a load frozen cheaper. Some plate ones and good fruit pies too.

Was in there other week.  I thought they were ok but not top tier. My old man used to love Wilson’s. There or greenhalghs wouldn’t buy them anywhere else

They pour gravy into the hole at the top of the pie 👍

Am I the only one on here prepared to maintain standards?

Sigh.

She’s just indicated a preference for a hole full of gravy and not a SINGLE ONE OF YOU has commented?
