The 2020 USA Presidential election

The eve of the maddest show in the world

Two senior citizens battling it out to become the most powerful person in the world

The most decisive election in years, which no matter the outcome, the whole country is anticipating civil unrest.

Yes folks the loonies are well and truly out of the Asylum

Forget the polls, forget what you think will happen one thing for sure is it’s always unpredictable and I cannot wait

Buckle up Dorothy

Michigan the key one Biden needs to gain ground in, 200k behind

Detroit only declared 50% of votes thus far, another 250k to declare, would expect it to go heavily towards Biden 66:33

who's favourite now then? - or is it still too close?

Still Trump I think.

If he doesn't win, they'll need the army to carry him out.

Just cos he's dead fat.

Jumping on BLM lost the Democrats key Florida areas and ultimately the state

Is Jeb Bush still gerrymandering down there?

I think Biden will win Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin and Michigan to win it

If Michigan or Nevada drop out then Georgia could drop in to mitigate

Detroit the big declaration to give a better picture of Michigan

likely Atlanta will halve Trumps lead in Georgia when they declare the last 20% of votes

Biden is 1.66 on the exchange, but as we've seen, odds don't really mean much when it comes to elections. You'd think at this point there would be a bit more accuracy however.

Trump is terrible for democracy and an absolute disgraceful President. Making unsubstantiated claims he has won before all votes are counted as well as claiming fraud and vote rigging is just ridiculous.

If the postal votes continue to favour Biden then he’s got this in the bag surely

Trump knows this, thus him getting in early with his conspiracy theory

Fuck knows why they count the postal votes last in some states, they e had many of them for weeks, just count them at the same time ffs

Why offer the mail-in vote option if you're not going to count them? The mind boggles.

Ran the risk of saying well you’re putting people in jeopardy having to queue amongst people in a pandemic.

Go on then, how so?

I agree with one of the Trump team who was on BBC earlier - accepting ballots arriving after the day of voting is just odd. There may be some nuance / reason that I’m not aware of, but if you have 4 weeks or whatever before Election Day to get your ballot posted, surely just change the process to make it clear the ballot has to arrive at the polling station / counting HQ on or before the day of the election.

That said, I disagree entirely with his next comment which was that ballots that arrive afterwards under the rules as they are should not be counted. The process may be odd, but you have to follow it.

It’s the same on both sides not exclusive to the democrats. the whole system is flawed though

You either allow any postal ballots stamped with yesterday’s date (or before)

OR

You have an earlier deadline for postal votes so they have time to arrive, sounds more practical but I guess they would say you need to give people the maximum time to decide

Not ideal when it’s so close, if it wasn't so close then it wouldn’t be an issue I guess

How many is 15%?

Caputo is the chief Florida correspondent for Politico, but yes, 'Twitter'. That's how media works these days.
