Was it a Saturday afternoon game? I always had in my mind it was a night match and we won 4-0 at Charlton the same evening.

I was at Charlton on FD's coach & it wasn't a great day off the pitch there either.

It was Saturday..... We were giving the Baggies loads of shit from the bus when we got there, then the Police stopped it & made us all get off...... We got legged everywhere 😁

It was Saturday and yes loads of Bolton in the Chaddy End. It was West Brom’s last game of the season and all they needed was to win; we were battering Charlton but the baggies got a late winner

Ee you live and learn.  I was only 7 but remember my dad moaning "we win 4 nil away from home and still don't go up" and always pictured it being late at night. Mind you my bedtimes we're much earlier in them days 🤔
