It's that match v Darlington (5/11/86?). What it would have looked like if everyone who claims to have been there, really was.

Now Jim, when I mentioned "rattle" you immediately thought of "rattler" a colloquial name for a train, and suggested Crewe Alexandra, a place inextricably linked to trains. Well it was a good idea but

My brother is so tight when is comes to paying for car parking. He would park streets away just to save a few pence.

I think it was the 72 3 promotion season, just before i started going

Almost certain it was 4 0 as i was watching for our results by then

Yeh you are right , 4-0 replay result. Must have been confusing that thrashing with another later 5-0 mauling probably mid-seventies.

We also did the league double over them 1972-73 season 3-2 away & 3-0 home.

Interestingly only 6k on at the Valley for the league game but 10k for the cup game.

We had 18k for the league game & 21k for the cup game .

How times have changed , bigger crowds for cup games then across the board.

i think we played luton in the next round or 2 and from what i have heard since, that one may have delayed my first game!

Aaahh. Luton. The Johnny Aston &  potato-pie in the posh lady's face game. Marvellous.

Anyone got a link to that game where you choose which ground has a higher capacity? Was it @Zico that originally posted it? Can't remember.
