It's difficult to believe that a guy unwanted by Morecambe, recruuted late by us and unable to put in a full 90 until very recently, is the person the whole thing depends upon.

Crawford is a concern. We know he cannpkay. He played well in a higher league last season. Has he not really recovered from his injury ?

He certainly needs a rest.

What would we give for a Carl Henry type right now.

First 40 in control, then foul or not, shouldn’t let the lad cross to equalise.

never got going again after half time.

stupid foul for them to score second and the half just drifted.

should have won that game

Fairly sure it was Crawford who put in a half hearted tackle at our right back position,  missed the tackle so just walked away up the pitch allowing the walsall guy to cross unheeded

Crawford was one arrowed, it was a foul all day, shocking refereeing.

I dunno how you think we stop him crossing it

Its a shocking (non) decision

We get so many shocking decisions against us, that in our case they can’t possibly “even themselves out” as they say. I suppose some would say we’re just unlucky - Suspicious i’d say.

We had 2 men on their player right by the corner flag.  Surely one of them could /should have kicked it out ?

Simple the ball should’ve been put out of play before for a throw in

Fred?

I like Eyre, he speaks well and knows his stuff... but at times feels like he's watching the game through massively BWFC tinted glasses. Despite him saying the exact opposite I never thought at any point we were in complete control of the game today.

He was ready to jump over the fence and take the Walsall bench on in IEs defence.

I saw Fred a few times after dinner speaking. Usually with an ex United backroom bloke who’s name I can’t recall. (Fred was with him, not me) Very entertaining at times (Fred, not me).

Fair point, but he's the manager and it's up to him to get the players to adapt, if he can't, he either gets the players in who can or he changes his way of playing/formation.

Yes. Pragmatism needed. Doesn’t mean you can't adhere to your footballing principles, but as he often says, you have to scrap a bit too and earn the right to start knocking it around.

When we played our football on the deck, they couldn’t live with us. At half time they were no doubt told to get more physical & rough us up a bit - it worked because our bunch of mardarses can’t cope with any physical stuff. Wallsall bullied us into a defeat.

Well he as a dilemma next he needs to sort this midfield out Crawford is shit and Thomason is not strong enough for defensive midfielder otherwise I only can see 1 result teams have sussed us out .

They were plenty physical in the first half

Sum's it up for me. With a stronger ref, they would have had 3 or4 booking their 1at goal would have been disallowed, we would have got at least a point. But we do need to toughen up.

Pretty decent summary. Most of our danger comes down the right. I think having an option on the left makes life so much easier for us.

In Jan we need a leader in central midfield, a Karl Henry type of signing. A left wing back so we do not cut back every time and a keeper at least as back up.

Not disagreeing, but I keep hearing we need a Karl Henry type.  We're in Div 2, I feel like they don't exist.  Spearing is probably the only one I can think of with my limited knowledge of this league, and (if he played) he's not stopped them conceding 8 goals in 2 games same as us.

Comley was supposed to be a Karl Henry wasn't he?  At this level we've never heard of or seen these players so I don't know what the answer is, I'll settle for just signing a decent midfielder that has something about him.

An experienced head who can put his foot in should be available. Even in the games we were winning there were spells where it just needed the game breaking up and slowing down. We have a lot of effort but at times it just needs slowing down , buy a free-kick and disrupt the flow and provide some leadership.

of course they are around. Tutte wasnt wanted by Morecambe. If Evatt really wants that type they are out there. Does he really though? i have my doubts

Every top team has at least one ‘water carrier’ in the team. If Evatt doesn’t want that type, file under Coyle as failure

Tutte has been playing well, and I wish he was still in the team, however, he is a journeyman lower division footballer so is he really the Messiah??

We still have a massive team, 3 centre Half's, a right wing back who is huge, a left wing back who is a defender, Sarce who can give a bit, and the Fonz up front. So to me getting out battled is not because of that one position, as critical as it is.

Tutte isn't a crunching midfielder in any case, he reads it well and gets himself in the right places, but I'm not sure obsessing about that position sorts out our deficiencies.

For me, the one player who would keep us up the pitch would be Crawford, he has an almost free role that most players would love, and he is so so bad it beggars belief, I just don't know why Evatt has taken so long to wise up to this? And the fact the little cunt seems to have an inflated opinion of his own ability just grates on me even more

Intetesting the opposition commentators didnt think they were bullying us. Constantly crying over Santos , Delaney (should have been sent off 2nd half according to them) Sarcevic mixing it up . Doyle and Fonz battling away.

For me Crawford lightweight and never a No10. Sarce should be there but we need more steel in that midfield
