Its appeasement, that's all it is, and more people will end up dying in the longer term if you essentially capitulate to agressors. These aren't peace deals in the slightest.

  • We’ve reached a point where folk are so entrenched in their support for trump that they’ll side with Putin if it means not losing face on the socials. Thats where we are now. its ok

  • That Vance is a bigger cunt than Trump

It's all part of Putin's plan to show he's brought Russia back to the big time, that they're major global players again.

I'd imagine he relaxes knocking back vodka with his generals watching our very threatening Foreign Secretary in her prime:

We all have a back history. Putin was a taxi driver for a short while after his KGB post ended.

This remains the cringiest thing I've ever seen from a UK politician. And I've seen May's robot dance.....!

Never a positive view on anything this country does eh!

Putin won't be on the front line will he?

As it happens the response of the UK has been very positive and we've made great efforts to garner support from all over Europe. Biden is coming to the party now, and the amount of naval power in the med and supporting weapons we and others have supplied will, without doubt, ensure he does think carefully.

Perhaps have a look at the performance of Germany in particular if you see an example of a soft, blind eye approach.

It's her presence and delivery on the public stage which should ensure she doesn't make a pm, or even party leader. Lacks the necessary charisma.

Off camera, she seems to be half decent.

I think Germany is relying too much on Russian gas supplies

It's a disgrace that Germany denied us access to their airspace to fly military aid the the UN. A disgrace of almost pear importation levels!!!!

Just a bit.

Now, as I posted yesterday, Google Gerhard Schroder, and his comments a while back over certain Russian activity.

We go bonkers when a former pm gets involved in an investment company, but this mon is an apologist and Putin's paid patsy.

The Budapest memorandum also explains some of our responsibilities.

You'd think ze Germans would know better.

Is there a historical East-West thing in Germany as in the Ukraine?

East pro Russia, West pro our lot?

They should have a massive game of Mike Read's Runaround.

You have a week to show your allegiances; Pro- Russia or Pro- Europe

The legislation is in place to sort this, but it isn't used frequently enough. Only a handful of individuals have been prosecuted using it. Need to toughen up.

We like the Russians (and Chinese for that matter) laundering their money here, no way will we be making a meaningful effort to stop it, otherwise we would have nipped it in the bud a long time ago

Nothing to do with large donations to a certain political party either of course.

“All donations are properly and transparently declared to the Electoral Commission, published by them, and comply fully with the law. It would be wrong to suggest malign motive on behalf of individuals simply because of the country of their birth.”

That's the official response to that.

From an article in the guardian.

Murky money movements for sure, but all donations to all parties (above a certain figure iirc) are scrutinised.

No doubt. For those oligarchs who are "anti" putin I'm sure there will be less desire to stop them and end up pushing their money elsewhere.

Recorded, but rarely scrutinised.
