He pissed around with climate stuff in his first term.

Over threw environmental protections in areas of wilderness for mineral extraction.

Joe reinstated them.

Presumably, he'll go back on them.

Daft.

Nowt like a long term plan eh? 🙄

Biden's infrastructure renewal project is something we won't row back on as it's going to help hugely in many of Trump's key areas. In 10/5 years the US will be benefiting hugely from it.

Sadly, people don't like long term boring political policy solutions in the West at the moment.

Don’t you worry about me pal - I’m here for the duration 👍. I’ll brighten your day up every now and then 🫣.  Just looking forwards to Day 2 and what comedy gold gems Trump and his global elites come up with today🤡! Makes life worth living…..

No you won't.

 Amusing to see the usual suspects ridiculing. No different to Brexit.

Get used to it chums. After common sense has returned I look forward to the retribution stage which Biden has foreseen hence his advanced pardons. Bent as fuck.

Made me laugh when he said Biden had pardoned criminals, including in his own family.

Whilst correct, the inference that his lot weren't is pathetic.

Both as bad as each other.

It's a different political system and culture over there though.

Must admit don’t know enough about the US political system, and the way the three branches of government are supposed to keep everything in check….but agree seems cleared flawed and all too easy abused - by any one party.  The founding fathers will be turning over in their graves how all the power has ended up in the (tiny) hands of a convicted felon and unelected billionaires.
At least it couldn’t happen over here 😳

The nutter has pardoned the creator of Silk Road as well as nearly 1600 people from the Capitol riots.

It's going to be a mad 4 years.

Well, the pardons for family were because Trump said he was going to.go after them. So it was more to protect innocent people rather than freeing people who have been convicted.

The legislature is completely separate from the executive and the judiciary- it's the core of our political system. The division of the branches (we also had this before Brexit - since the constitutional reform act of 2005 - it's like we were a sovereign nation, and have been since 1689, who knew, eh?)

They have the same three branches in the US. The difference is the the president can pardon people but it is still subject to constitutional constraints (despite what Trump.says about this) but unlike the UK constraints can be ignored if those in the executive branch feel it's not in their best interests to stop this.

So.its rather good we have the HoC.

This is an excellent listen in terms of putting Trump's election win and coverage in context - both political and historical

Was his son not convicted of anything then?

If not, how can he be pardoned in the first place?

I was referring to the pardons on inauguration day - which you should look at and the reasons before you say its all the same, because it just isn't and needs to be called out as such or else people blythly believe this rubbish.

They’re really not as ‘bad as each other’.

Imagine looking through today’s pardons & still coming out with that.

Some proper vermin released from prison today. Imagine the uproar if it was loads of Islamists.

He did refer to pardons of family members in the first sentence of the post, to be fair, and Hunter Biden was convicted

But without a doubt Trump pardoning the January 6 prisoners is an absolute fucking nonsense

Ran on getting violent people off the street by putting 1500 violent people on the street

When did all this pardon nonsense really kick off then?
