Assuming that their exports will be hit in a tit for tat response, then there may be well capacity to supply their home market.

I reckon it's all a load of old tripe anyway- there are numerous projects and contracts between the USA and European nations on military equipment and components.

Similarly on domestic aircraft for example. 

It would seem Bolty isn't a free marketeer after all.

I know a thing or two about copper, and America imports 85% of its copper from places like South America and Mexico.

Trump loves his blue collar types. He’s all about them. So in, let’s say, the plumbing industry, if he starts whacking tariffs on imports because he doesn’t like some other presidents haircut, and the price of these materials suddenly goes through the roof - your average plumber is then charging American consumers more for any work.

Those hip pocket nerves suddenly start twitching.

cheap petrol is all good and well, but when all the gear you import just doubled in price, the scales tend to tip back against you.

But I’m sure he knows what’s what.

One thing is for sure it’ll never be the same again.  Love him or loathe him Trump is changing the US for good.  Hard to see the Democrats ever being able to reverse all the changes even if they wanted to.  Latest one this morning is downsizing the federal government by 10% with redundancy offers, not to save money as Adolf Musk said months back but according to the deputy chief of staff it’s to get rid of non-believers…. “the government's two million workers were "overwhelmingly left of centre", adding it was "essential" for Trump to "get control of government".

At least they’re open about it now.

We desperately need a touch of that here.

The home office showed its true colours the other day; so much so that the government said "fuck off" to a report.

Similarly with the nhs and any public body.

DEI typifies the type of problem.

Hard working local government employees being told by some twatting non-job to put their pronouns on emails.

I’m all for streamlining stuff, improving efficiencies, getting rid of non value-add activities/people etc & focusing public money on what really makes a difference to people’s lives ……I just feel it’s important to do this in a way that actually achieves these objectives.  Needs to happen in the UK for sure.
