She's half right 😁. Some childhood vaccines do wane over time - tetanus and diphtheria boosters are recommended every 10 years for adults.

Your specific situation (immunosuppressive treatment) is definitely a valid reason to re-vaccinate, as your immune system will be compromised.

Some people who were vaccinated as children may have lost immunity and would benefit from boosters. But a lot of the childhood vaccines (like MMR and polio) provide much longer-lasting immunity - usually lifelong for most people.

The reason the NHS doesn't routinely re-vaccinate all adults isn't cost - it's because most people maintain their immunity and don't need it.
