Sorry for the repeat! So, obviously no one has been prosecuted yet and as such either side can refute that claim despite clear evidence to the contrary from both. Outsider experts and the UN say there is clear evidence of war crimes from both sides - for example you can't force civillians out of an area by a certain date or else you get blown to bits, many saw this as a humanitarian gesture but actually constitutes a war crime as even if you don't leave you have the same rights, as well, because you are a human being. Also to withhold medical care for civillians is a violation of the Geneva Convention.  Finally,  if there is found to be any failure to discriminate between military targets and civillians then it will have. The UN says there is evidence on both sides of war crimes.

Gaza city is densly populated but that does not absolve the attacking force from their duty to distinguish between combantants and civillians, even if Hamas cowardly hide behind them. Its why terrorist groups do it, they can't defeat a conventional army so they use these tactics and its been going on forever, however unpalatable this maybe. This has holds to account those who's strategy is to 'blow them to bits'

During a conflict experts simply can only collect the evidence to be delievered at a date so if crimes have been comitted, countries, organisations or people can face justice.

So in anwer, the evidence is there but no one will be held to account until the conflict dies down.

The IDF evict whole villages of innocent people. Sometimes in the most brutal of conditions.

There are no ‘fighting conditions’ to contend with when these place 👍

We haven’t discussed these, we’ve been discussing your outrage that they’re deliberately targeting kids in hospitals.

Oooh the little tinker - that' what listening to too of Dexy's new album does for you. Rots your brain.

Or at least makes you whisper very odd sweet nothings into your other half's ear.

Israel never charged with war crimes

So safe to assume he'll challenge any reference to Jimmy Savile being a nonce

What with him never being charged with it

Fair play

Probably blame Starmer though

Are Amnesty the body that decides?

Apparently not, there is a more formal, legal, process.

I expect anything before the due process would be assumed or jumping to conclusions?

But not a war crime.

If you want

They don't decide, but as they say

"Our research points to damning evidence of war crimes in Israel’s bombing campaign that must be urgently investigated"

So wait and see what a court decides

But at the moment my answer is "it looks like it yes"

Official war crime or not for me the Israeli governments actions are no better than Hamas so are effectively a terrorist organisation themselves, they are inhumane and evil and cannot be justified

In the court of Amnesty and WW, they are war crimes, but not in the court that is set up to decide such things.

I agree that it looks like way, in the court of BD/GD, but, thankfully, even I don’t have the authority to decide.

Unfortunately or otherwise, these are the facts.

by your logic, im pretty sure you will argue nobody was murdered on october 7th??

to which I would say, utter bollocks

No need, various reports by the authorities found against him.

well, the facts are Israel are doing what they are doing

whether it's a war crime is not is for a court to decide

whether they are being cunts is an opinion

not having the authority to decide if they are war crimes or not doesn't mean you can't pass judgement

I think it's abhorent, others think it's justified, that discussion is what the past few weeks has really been about, certainly in this country and on this thread

to say "but they haven't committed war crimes" doesn't make it ok or any less/more acceptable for me, it is what it is

I just don't understand why the Isreali government seemingly get a free pass or excused to do what they want to Palestiniuans seemingly without repurcussion (except for that from Hamas of course, who are also evil and abhorent), they are a law unto themselves

Committed a crime and found guilty though?

I'm using the same test as war crimes being committed and found guilty as you

Which is what you meant when you asked the original question

There's plenty of evidence probably on a par with your 'various authorities' that you refer to in my Savile reference that suggests your point falls down

But that's ok

Israel could turn another 4000 babies to ash next week and he'd still argue black was white.

It's blatantly obvious.

Hey LW. Given the current circumstances, What do you think should happen now?

Evacuation and where to?

Ceasefire and for how long?

Anything else?

MPS vote against callingnfor a ceasefire by a majority of 168

Resignations apparently expected among the Labour Party front bench
