Get yourself over to Richard Tice and his merry little band 👍

With all this talk (not from you) of the "silent majority" (which we all know doesn't actually exist) wanting the country to enact some of the more extreme policies, you'd think they'd piss the next GE  - where as in reality, they won't get more than 2 seats

Yes. I have mentioned that this is who I would be voting for on more than one occasion.

There is a silent majority as well you know. The same sort who can't be arsed voting in council elections and thereby letting the interlopers in.

Proportional representation would likely garner 30-35% of the Parliament for the likes of Reform UK. You know this but will no doubt argue red is blue (see how PC I was there?) that the percentage would be far lower. No one can prove it either way so it may be time to leave the screeching lefties to it again for a while as this all becomes rather tiresome. None of us will budge from entrenched positions so is there really any point in trying to discuss it?

Maybe a sojourn until the IDF has completed its work is in order.

Aye.

I agree re the marching, but blaming the teachers is some level of ignorance.

What’s worse is that people perpetuating these myths & isolated stories will then go onto to use stuff like this to influence their vote. Even though they and everyone else knows how much damage the current lot have caused in our education system. They will still give them a tick because they think kids are being brainwashed.

Agree re the knowledge overload. Critical thinking, social skills and practical skills are neglected at the expense of filling kids with knowledge. Children need this knowledge in some areas but there needs to be a balance. Don’t think our curriculum prepares them for life in a modern workplace and companies have been telling us this for years now.

Issue is that schools are used to paper over societal cracks, "They should teach this in school", "they should teach that in school"..

A teachers more of a social worker now than ever before.

Done some supply work recently, went in one school and they were asking me to come back before the end of the first lesson. Strangely a lot of supply teachers seem to be from minority groups..

A large proportion of teachers subscribe to socialist worker now than ever before.

I agree with you there is a reason why  Conservative and Labour won't entertain PR, because they'd be stuffed.

As for the percentage of votes the Reform party would get, who knows, we have no idea. And we'll never find out. Under this current system, they'll probably not get more than 3 seats.

Maybe everyone realised going round in circles disagreeing was a bit pointless?

In a way true. But not pointless. I think it's good that folk can discuss their thoughts on this forum.

Threads from Israel to Ukraine, Recent filums to Mushy peas on a Christmas dinner.

We may not all agree but it'd be boring if we did.

Jesus

You go weeks without it even crossing your mind, then there it is again, screeching into your consciousness like fingernails down a blackboard.

Mushy peas on a Xmas dinner.

5 weeks away

I feel a bit nauseous bringing it up

but

@Whitestar Xmas is just around the corner, will you be ordering your Xmas dinner directly from Satan’s kitchen?

Too right mate!

The Bachelors (not quick soak) were down to 50p in tezzie all summer and a good supply was purchased, however i noticed they are up to 70p this week.

They'll be profiteering for the Christmas season.

Got guests over Christmas, Italian. Wife is keen to show them a traditional British Christmas. Ham and mushy peas on the eve. I may slip some leftovers into the Christmas Dinner.😉

Pizza on Boxing Day, with pineapple 😳

Actually, planning on going to Lincoln to show them a traditional British football match.

Boris always seems to get a mention in every thread. You can’t ignore him. Anyway, as I said at the beginning of this conflict, trying to debate the rights and wrongs of the Israel/Palastine issue will go on for generations after we have all left this place. It’s like a game of Wiff Waff with no set score for a win. 😉

I throw Boris in as it keeps folk pecking at the feed.
