It's very plausible given he takes a great interest in opinion polls and focus groups, but calling for a "sustainable ceasefire" now isn't the same as calling for a ceasefire on, for example, 8th October

And so he shouldn't have.

I was reading the other day that Netanyahu's approval ratings are on their arse in Israel. Which I was surprised about as people tend to back their leader more closely when there's a war......

They wasn’t thinking

I assume they thought because the selection had closed they would ride it out, they can't swap him even if they wanted to.

But that just looks daft as the Tories would jump all over it jusy as they have. All a bit amateur really.

But that doesn't mean the Labour Party is antisemitic either.

Of course the red rags like the Mirror will be full of praise for their 'decisive' leader. That's a given.

Others will see it for what it is. Proof that Starmer uses the barometer of public opinion before he decides upon what he believes. Mr. Beige U Turn.

That fucking shyster Galloway might well now harvest the 'pro Palestinian' vote now and get across the line in Rochdale. He's even worse that the anti semite who just got canned.

I assume a vote for Labour will be recorded as a spoiled paper.

In not sure it is, do you reckon anybody is actually all that bothered? - do you think it'll lose them seats in the upcoming GE, they would have otherwise won?

The vote is for the candidate, not the party.

If he is elected, he would have to sit as an independant, or join another party.

That is correct, but will the papers actually reflect that?

Or will the paper still have the labour logo against his name?

I got the impression it is too late to change them.

Possibly, Rochdale for one!

I hope that it’s part of a developing picture about Starmer’s Labour.

They said last night it was too late to change the ballot papers.

I realise it was a vote for candidate rather than party but presumably if they'd had time to reprint ballot papers without that candidate then he then wouldn't have had the option to be elected as an independent.

He has a point I suppose. It was a mistake though, how costly time will tell.
