Well at least it's all over and both sides will now herald a new dawn of love and peace.

I can see them tying a load of Palestine and Israeli flags in a huge line along the Gazan border.

Or

They'll hate each other for the next million years and for some reason "the west" will continue to waste time and money on pretending a lasting peace can ever be acheived.

Some turds you simply have to walk away from, and maybe this gigantic dollop of shit is one of them.

They will never ever ever agree on anything other than hate.

We can't and shouldn't ever 'walk away' from this as this is on our door as well in terms of modern history.

The British Mandate for Palestine only ended in 1945, and the Balfour Declaration was issued by the UK to give a home for the Jewish people in Palestine which kickstarted wider Zionism in the US as well.

It's got everything to do with us, and we shouldn't forget that.

Blame or question the source and not the actual news or information itself seems to be quite a thing nowadays.

If the "source" is a twitter account that just posts images and commentary, but doesn't provide any context or reputable evidence, it's a fair criticism.

This times 1000 - it's the problem of today that people can tap their phone and find something they agree with without context and without any hard work.

It totally should be pulled up.

There's no changing their attitude.

You can build and destroy on repeat, but the mindset on both sides is beyond stubborn.

Even if Jesus and Mohammed came back to earth and explained to them all that there's really no need to get all mithered about some rocks, they'd just claim it was a fake second coming and keep twatting each other anyway.

I actually think it gives them all a big bonk on. Like Rangers and Celtic slugs.

This. And it’s always the other lots fault. Whichever side you are on. It was them wot started it.

For what its worth, I see both sides.

But, until they acknowledge that they're bickering over a couple of thousand year old manuscripts that were probably written by some bored, sexually frustrated dickheads, it won't stop.

Truth is, humans just love a scrap.

We do it on here and we're supposedly on the "same team"

Plus ca change

If the ‘source’ is a terrorist organisation it’s fair to question it.
Some do, many don’t.

It's not 'their' attitude. It's a situation caused by a lot of the West.

To say it's their's others them, and makes it seem different from how anyone one of us would feel living there.

Think less religion and more global politics and it's there you'll find the source of the conflict. Omniscient deities are the smoke screen.

Same as it was from Rome to the Ottoman Empire. It's only ever been about control and power, it's just the banners that change.

Absolutely. Then you completely obliterate your argument by posting 'proof' from an anonymous twitter account.

You've explained nothing but your personal opinion.

It must be lovely to be so reductionist that everything appears so very simple.

I never said it was proof. Read it again. I said it was from an Israeli account so ‘who knows’. I then said fog of war which was the point.

But you trust that account more than you trust independent journalists and reputable NGO's?

Diversion.

So, if you knew it was from a misleading and bias source without any factual evidence, why feel the need to post it and give it a wider audience?

Just scroll past and think, well probably not totally accurate.

Not really, just about to get the train to town as I've got a producer coming down from York for a late lunch at the Covent Garden Hotel (if you are up this way the prawn ceasar salad is the best)

And that's another diversion by the way 😉

And when Israel kill Palestinian kids what do their parents do? They want revenge and some end up in terror organisation.

It’s a vicious cycle with two sides both of which are equally at fault and equally reprehensible in their behaviour.

Sat at the next table to Jon Sopel and his wife yesterday at Bills in Bondi. He had the same as me which was corn fritters with roasted tomatoes and extra bacon. (brunch) Not a diversion, just another boring story from down under.

Paying attention to another mans food order is a bit weird, innit? Especially if you don't know him.

Thank you for explaining that to me. To be fair, I thought it was complex in 1973 but it’s obviously gone much more complex for someone like me.

😄

then if you’re aware of that why say it’s Israel vs the terrorists?

Yes I believe he's there visiting his family (as the News Agents always go on about)

Might be me being a miserable sod but just never fancied going to Australia.

Mind you, at the moment going anywhere but London or Canterbury would be a bloody change.

Oh, as for ani semitic, my only issue with Jews is they avoided double chemistry in 1978

You know full well the 'they' refers to Hamas. Your rage is overtaking you.

Pointless discussing this any further with you. Neither of us is budging. You'll look the 'result' one way and me another. Brexit was no different.

That is of course if there actually is a 'result'
