Here’s a radical idea. How about Israel stop kidnapping innocent people indefinitely & actually charge them, before giving them a trial. Then they’ll avoid being perceived as many as just as bad as Hamas. And just for clarity, that’s not me saying that genuine terrorists aren’t taken prisoner 👍

They can read what else I’ve said & not take a clearly provocative post so literally 😂 Thinking I genuinely believed they were all innocent was on your part. I’ve explained  myself enough times since.

Aside from the big names you mentioned, you’ve got thousands taken from Gaza with no trial, charge or evidence given for their abduction. 

Hamas terrorists kidnap & murders innocent civilians & it’s labelled for what it is.

Yet when Israel does the same - they are all labelled prisoners.

🥱 It was never a comment meant to be taken literally.

Look at your last comment. It completely ignores the thousands of people Israel took hostage with no evidence, charge or trial. Women, teenagers held in prisons with no evidence against them. That some others are mass murderers doesn’t make that practice okay does it? 
 

Bit odd saying Israel are the bad guys. All I’m saying is they hold no moral high ground over Hamas when they’ve been proven to hold innocent people as well. And by Israel we should be clear that we’re talking about their current extremist government.

As we've been reporting, 90 Palestinian prisoners have just been released as part of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. 

The Palestinians freed from Israeli prisons include 69 women and 21 teenage boys from the West Bank and Jerusalem, according to Hamas.

According to the Reuters news agency, most of the people released today were recently detained and not tried or convicted. 

Over the first phase of the truce, Israel is expected to release about 1,900 Palestinian prisoners and detainees, while Hamas is expected to release some 33 Israeli hostages.

I've had a TEAMS call this morning and one of my colleagues is in Tel Aviv, he reckons the ceasefire will be broken within 24/48 hours. He thinks Israel won't hold it, as they have to be seen to be strong (his words, not mine)

No evidence from Israel as to why they held them. Even Palestinian journalists arrested, simply because they didn’t agree with their narrative. Some amongst the 1000+ set to be released.

Can see the shared humanity in moments like this. Until it all erupts again.

Yes, quite possibly so.

I think they will wait until a rocket is launched into Israel though. Or similar. 

After all, Hamas' stated aim seems to be to destroy Israel, so it won't take much to provoke them.

I think you're probably right, sadly. It's not much of a ceasefire if all it takes is for one Hamas fighter to unilaterally decide to fire a rocket from Gaza mind!

Obviously it's would be a different kettle of fish if it were a large scale and coordinated attack like the October massacre.

This is where I disagree.

No difference if its one rocket or a co-ordinated attack for me.

Putting aside for a moment, the long standing conflict and religious stupidity, Israel has had to install, no doubt at great cost, many batteries of surface to air defensive missiles.

The defensive bit is important.

Meanwhile, Iran has supplied offensive missiles and they've fashioned their own from humanitarian aid, funded by countries like ours.

It had become so common place that it seemed that such continued attempted strikes were somehow less of an issue then they would be in any other nation.

Imagine Nicola's lot, having lost the referendum getting the hump, going rogue and lobbing a few unguided munitions over Hadrian's wall at us.

Don't think we'd spend billions to shoot them down, whilst doing little about it.
