Meanwhile in Israel

Is it kicking off big time or is this just everyday stuff they deal with or a bit of both?

If it comes off then fair play to the negotiating team including Trump.

My attempts to be striking are working then. Napthalene for me. "Watch the cloth, moth".

I’d choke saying the words but “I agree, whaddaguy”. If his obnoxious character traits can be put to good use to get Hamas to permanently down tools and release hostages, and stop the IDF massacring civilians then absolutely 👏👏👏.

Might be wrong, but I've heard nothing about Hamas agreeing to stop their activities permanently.

Without Hamas agreeing to put down their weapons, then it maybe that Israel rejects the plan, and they will again be painted as the bad boys.

Perhaps a clever, even cynical move by the terror group.

Hopefully something will come of it all, but I can't see a permanent agreement being reached as things stand.

Maybe a ceasefire in return for hostages, and that might grow into something.

Agreed - a long way to go.  Baby steps though, and try and build even a bit of trust. Anything to get the carnage stopped.

I think a lot relies on the Arab states putting unrelenting pressure on Hamas, and Trump simultaneously getting Israel to back down. Neither side will do anything off their own back.

Too soon to say.  The danger is that the palestinian terrorists will agree to enough to keep Trump happy but start applying conditions that drag it out until if fizzles out.........same as the way Putin played Trump over Ukraine.

Only when the hostages are safely back in Israel will it be time for "whaddaguy ".

Whatever happens - without a shit ton of aid arriving in Palestine and a genuine rebuilding of Gaza with the Palestinians in mind - followed by decades of support I can't see any plan working now.

Israel will have created an army of angry young people, growing up without loved ones and will be very easy to radicalise I expect.

They need to be given hope and a reason to live, or it's going to fall apart in the long term.

Putin certainly does

Can you really win a Nobel Prize for threatening to bomb the shit out of someone if they don't submit to terms? 🤔

It’s not helped by the fact both sets of government are extremists. It’s not going to change long term until we see change of leadership. Hamas well never agree to disarm… nobody will in Palestine  for that matter, not with a close neighbour who wants their land & right to sovereignty.

Many senior figures in Hamas have had justice served. Part of the peace process also needs to see those senior Israeli leaders responsible for war crimes brought to justice in court.

This whole process has to work both ways, or nothing changes.

Not in a million years

But there’s this new award that his Great British Fanboys have invented.

 It’s called the “Whadaguy Award”.

Ceremony to take place at Clacton Town Hall

Nominee list to be confirmed ….

It's less than 4 years mate. Stay calm.

You'll then have Sir Nigel as your hate figure.

Hate is a bit strong.

More of a realist. His policies would be horrendous.
