Boo Boys

Watched some of the Eengerland game this afternoon.

Who in their right mind buys a ticket and then boos and jeers the players before the first kick?

I know its all about the knee but if the boo boys don't agree, why can't they just ignore the players' actions by sitting in their seat with their arms folded? I sat in may seat and kept quiet  in the 90s when the FA ordered us to have a minutes silence for Matt Busby.

Booing is at its core an attempt to silence an opinion and an expression. Which is poor but not untypical of the general mindset of those who profess freedom of speech but really just want to be free

  • I’d bounce you off the floodlights you fuckin minge

  • Was proud of our fans today. Brilliant.

I think there's a clouding of the issue here that is convenient for some people to hide behind.

There is a problem with racism in sport and in society generally.
The BLM cause got hijacked and has attracted adverse publicity.
It is possible to be anti-BLM and still not be racist.
I abhor racism in any form, but I'm unimpressed by the BLM movement.

You can’t do that. One or the other I think. Then never change or acknowledge an opposite opinion ha

It’s not. That’s the same as saying raising a fist is the black panther symbol. Just because a group adopts something doesn’t mean thats what it fully represents

Hence the term "useful idiots". Well meant or otherwise it gives extremely bad people a legitimacy they don't deserve.

Sorry, yes, of course. Thanks for reminding me of the rules

I'll go back to booing black players, because the BLM are nobs.

I went to both England games at Middlesbrough, Southgate and the players are told by the FA to take the knee (allegedly), I didn't boo or clap, for 10 seconds I stared at the floor, easy

Bizarre isn’t it. If they stop now because of booing do people think that’s it and it will stop. As mental as it sounds if folk are that against it they should clap or kneel for a few weeks in solidarity and that’s the way it will stop being part of the routine

Middlesbrough don't take to their knees in their league games.

Euro 2020 spoiled by politics.

Teams run out, shake hands, toss a coin, kick off, fucking proper simples, i guarantee nobody will boo and we can all enjoy the football

People use their brains and don’t boo anyway and then all that can happen.

I have never believed that we should just stick to football.”

“It’s their duty to continue to interact with the public on matters such as equality, inclusivity and racial injustice, while using the power of their voices to help put debates on the table, raise awareness and educate.”

He obviously never had a conversation with Gabby Agbonlahor 😂

Football and politics has never worked and never will, the knee needs sacking off, then we can get back to the beautiful game.

No knee no boos, fortunately or unfortunately that's the only way it will stop, you can argue about it until you are blue in the face. The knee has exasperated the problem, it's not the solution.

I could argue till I’m blue in the face but it doesn’t bother me so I’ll hold back ha.

Id be more interested in booing VAR. something that actually ruins the game.

Agreed on VAR and add incompetent referees.

And for the record I wouldn't boo personally, I'm just sick to death of all this shit and I just want football back.

Good man

I agree. Brilliant. He really does speak with a perfect blend of intelligence, passion, tradition and patriotism, while getting over some really important social messages.

Now let’s hope he gets it right on the pitch.

"Sick to death" of a 5-second Anti-Racism gesture before a match kicks off? "Sick to death"

Witnessing a peaceful gesture for 5 seconds a week, or spending an entire career hearing irrational abuse directed at you because of the colour of your skin...? I know what would make me more "sick to death".
