Bloody love me some Madness, though not seen them live since the Euro 96 event at Old Trafford.

Yep love seeing them. Never do a bad show. Looking forward to them today at Lytham.

Them. Supported by Rick Astley, Lightning Seeds, the footy :D and Kid Kapichi

Kid Kapichi will be a good do.

Bridgewater hall last night for the Halle Stars n Stripes night

OMG

incredible , Copelands Fanfare as an opening and then Babers adajio for strings in second half !!!!!

never felt emotion like it at a concert

only music . but to see tears streaming down peoples faces just listening to the string section

incredible

Plus ,if you are a peasant like me at half time you can run to Britons Protection for a couple of pints

But the Halle last night truly extraordinary , all for £12

Saw Jeff Beck in there such a quality do, Clapton at the Nynex a few months later was a disappointment with the shit sound quality.

Thoroughly enjoyed Lytham on Saturday.

Missed Kid Kapichi due to being delayed in a boozer

Lightning Seeds were very good. Rick Astley was far better than expected, and Madness nailed it as usual

Wish they hadn’t shown the footy tbh. Killed the mood a bit and cut Astley and Madness sets down

Never been before but felt like a festival for grown ups. Madness had folk in their 50s/60s/70s bouncing around like loons

Definitely on the list for next year

Still suffering THE most monumental of hangovers :D

It's definitely gathering pace that festival. Couple of summers ago they couldn't sell all the tickets and ended up giving them away.

Seems like it's really picked up. Nice on that green but from a few vids I've seen it didn't look too warm :)

Courteeners looked good.

Yeah the organisation is superb and they are getting good bands so can see why it’s picking up. Pricing inside is decent as well for an ‘event’. Not cheap but not rip off

Not warm at all on Saturday. 3 layer job 😀

Might do 2 days next year and limit the booze intake on day 1  :D

Body Count, White Lies, Fatboy Slim and Avril Lavine in MCR this week

Which night did you do White Lies? Wasn’t a massive fan of Big TV, but would’ve loved to have done the Ritual night.

Wasn’t there bud- just pointing out a potential absolute mind fuck of genres and bank balances to take in- without resorting to a stadium or a custom built arena!

I also recall you being a big fan- sorry if they were a bit shit

Good that bands like that are playing the Ritz. Does gall when bands like Courteeners are selling out OT though

Can't as bad as the draught stuff in The Academy. Pints at the Ritz whilst expensive are usually pretty good.

Even the Academy IPA is ropey, and Brightside usually do good ale

Yeah I keep meaning to moan at Carly from BS when I see her.

Because as you say their stuff is usually good so there's got to be something wrong with how the Academy is treating it.

In the main SU building the pints are top notch too.
