I know youre only chucking in hypotheticals, but lets say that was actually the case, why might we have done it?

For a laugh...or could it just be evatt reckons thats their value?

Yes of course, he's the boss and he has to decide how best to spend his budget, and obviously he's got all the inside info we aren't privy to.  But fans are entitled join in the debate, mistakes do happen here and at other clubs.  Contracts and transfers still boil down to managers' opinions on player A being better value than player B.

Fair points

I like politic...in fact i wanted all the coventry kids to play 500 games taking us in ten years to the chumps league

My only gripe is with the ones who cant seem to see that evatt wouldnt just bin him with no reason

Unless as suggested hes off to stockport

He probably means only 70% match fit and we have to remember that they have quality strikers contracted, so obviously they’ll play them first. Also, if there’s a possibility we’ll call him back in January, they’re not going to make him a first choice unless they’re struggling.

For me, of more concern is that IE just doesn’t seem to be mentioning him at all, or the likelihood of him being recalled. Maybe he’s not Evatt’s kind of player because let’s face it, he actually shoots and scores goals!! 😌

One of these days you might post something half intelligent but I won’t hold my breath waiting for it.

😁

Look, you're the one who's eager to share your thoughts with the rest of the world but a puerile comment like that doesn't help your cause.

Evatt is in total control of the Politic situation & he's stated that he can recall him in January if he wants to. Folks questioning him about Politic is a distraction at the moment that I'm sure he can do without.

I don’t consider it a purile comment Steejay, just a comment on how I see it and isn’t sharing your thoughts what boards like this are for? 😗 I fully accept though that IE is in control of the Politic situation and you’re right that he has indicated that he could if wanted, recall him in January. He probably also doesn’t want to comment and interfere too much with the lads loan situation and will address the matter in due course, so on that basis and having had a rethink, you’re spot on that he can do without me adding my two penneth! 😎

My take on this is pretty simple,  politic had a bad injury, went out on loan, done very well in a side that let's him play to his strengths when he gets on, scored a couple of goals, and is getting fitter, although still prone to an injury here and there,  but that is expected, especially after his long lay off. I'd stay at Vale if I was him, if he came back here, where would the lad play, he isn't going to replace doyle, kachunga, afolayan or amaechi. He's done well,  and I hope he comes back here but he won't get a game at the moment

We may not have Amaechi for much longer.

Perfectly possible someone comes in with a decent offer for Dapo.

If he shows up well enough, he will get a game.

Depends how he sees things I suppose, but if Vale do go up and he remained there, then he's in the same boat- part timer in league one, but with a smaller club.

Agreed.

I’d love him to have a successful career, hopefully with us.

However, he’ll be an impact sub if our present players continue to show improvement. Maybe Evatt will recall him and use him that way.

Only my opinion but if he was in the squad I would see him competing with and providing cover for Isgrove (injured), Delfouneso (out of form), Lee (doesn't always do 90 mins), Kachunga, Ameachi if he stays, Thomasson and even Dapo when he's having one of his quiet games. Also we haven't replaced Sarcevic yet, the potential goalscoring attacking midfielder.

As said previously, its upto IE who he wants in his squad, just from a distance I fail to see why we wouldn't have him in the squad from 1st Jan while we're still very short of players.

Right, so Politic isn't coming back, because Evatt sys he hasn't had enough game time at Vale.

That's fair enough, but we've got three kids on our bench with virtually no league experience at all, surely we're better off with Politic on our bench than one of them?

Good to know we'll bring back defenders struggling in non-league but not attacking players in good form scoring against teams at our level.

There’s a problem with your theory there I’m not sure you are quite aware of.

We are allowed to bring Senior back early, we are not allowed to bring back and play those on loan to professional league clubs until the window opens

Senior is a long way off League One standard IMO, having seen him. Maybe in 2 or 3 years.

Wouldn't disagree but at least he's been out and played competitive football regularly.   To be fair to him, the week after he joined York they sacked their manager and results have been poor since, so I wouldn't necessarily expect York fans to be singing his praises.  But worth a bench slot at the moment in the absence of any established right back.

Gethin Jones has been a big miss in recent weeks, I think we've played Isgrove, Gordon, Brockbank and a back 3 with Baptiste on that side since he was injured.  None have really worked.

Politic started for Vale today but was substituted on 75 minutes in their 2-1 defeat.

Been reported this week that St Johnstone are close to signing Crawford permanently in January.  No idea if we are subsiding his wages at the moment.   They lost today and are now bottom of the league.  They are also Wigan Mark 2 with 4 ex Whites in their squad.   O'Halloran, Solomon-Otabor and soon to sign free agent Jacob Butterfield.

Solomon Otabor only signed for them 2 weeks ago, deal till Jan.  In our current situation we could have done worse on a short term deal, as an option off the bench instead of Delf and the kids.
