I read that 14,000 EU lorry drivers left jobs in the UK since brexit, and only 600 have returned.

Covid caused loss of tests to be cancelled.

Czechoslovakia was never a Soviet State. It was occupied by the Soviets. It’s now one of the most advanced economies of the former Eastern Bloc countries. It and other European nations have the same problems as us.

Another quick Google. Problems been brewing for years. Before brexit, and compounded by pandemic. 

 

In the last year or so to spring this year, around 200,000 eu citizens left. This during a pandemic with huge reduction in world trade and fewer truck journeys needed.

Also been 6.7 million applications to stay in the country, despite official estimates of only 3m+ eu citizens here. Some thought to live abroad but keeping their status alive so they can return if required. 

In short, any effects of brexit in this are dwarfed by earlier and current problems all over.

Yep. I follow what’s happening in the Czech Republic more closely but this, from one of your links, sums it up better.

It’s been building for a while and COVID has made it worse.
